Amazon: E-Commerce Process

E-commerce is defined as the process of buying or selling products or services over the
Internet and Amazon is one of the most famous e-commerce companies used by both
individuals as well as businesses. The company is well-known for its huge range of goods and
services and the site is available in many different countries and languages. Amazon uses the
e-commerce process to enhance its business-to-consumer and business-to-business
relationships. How? With both product information and attractive design, Jeff Bezos, CEO of
Amazon, developed the company product page using highly professional photography and page
layouts that offered a user-friendly experience. Product information given in the page and
reviews from consumers helps convince other customers that they are making the right
purchase. This helps Amazon in building good business-to-consumer relationships.
Furthermore, the company used the e-commerce process to expand by establishing an online
catalog of multiple products in which individual products dominate each page. To complete
transactions, consumers put product/s on one’s “shopping cart” while the purchasing system
interfaces with a bank account to settle credit and debit card transactions.

On the other hand, Amazon creates business relationships with various businesses.
Amazon’s online retail services allow businesses to sell their products on the same platform as
the Amazon retailer, and they also offer an affiliate program that allows businesses to earn
income by advertising Amazon’s products and its online retailers. Through the e-commerce
process, businesses benefit and are able to increase their sales opportunities. On the other
hand, Amazon also earns profit through its own sales, and other earnings and commissions.
E-Commerce Report

E-commerce takes advantage of the Internet to buy and sell goods and services with
various technology platforms. InfoWorld and ComputerWorld both provided me with good
material regarding e-commerce. It has been discussed how unlike before, a lot of consumers
now prefer to shop online instead of visiting physical stores. Gone is the “old normal” when
shopping requires us to go to malls so we could check out different stores, compare products
and go home with an armful of shopping bags. Today, the online experience changed and the
game and continues to add new twists to the customer journey. According to Lewis (2018),
there are several phases of the customer journey in e-commerce, and first is for retailers to
invest in a holistic and integrated QA testing strategy to support this multistep process. This
actively demonstrates establishing an integrated test approach so retailers ensure the quality of
the customer experience. This process or operation involves testing mobile and website,
compatibility, functionality, performance, payment, security, big data, regression and usability
(Lewis, 2018).

Furthermore, recent developments include a public platform developed in Senegalese,


dubbed “E-commerce COVID” (Ferranti, 2020). This platform is a portal paving out business
opportunities and giving consumers easy access to websites of SMEs/Small and Medium
Enterprises that sells basic and essential goods along the lines of food, hygiene and health
products, to help in the time of pandemic. In addition to that, I discovered from an article by
Sayer (2019) in ComputerWorld how Microsoft expanded Dynamics 365 Service, a cloud-based
business applications platform, with new e-commerce and retail store management capabilities -
generally to allow vendors to establish and manage their online stores. Aside from these,
e-commerce has also helped in maintaining supplier relationships. In New Zealand, CEO Ana
Connor says that with one login, all suppliers can be able to manage their business
transactions, product information and relationship contacts with businesses through their
Foodstuff eXchange e-commerce platform for suppliers (Paredes, 2019).

To sum up everything, e-commerce offers business a whole range of opportunities, but also
offers your customers round the clock, convenient service that can boost businesses.
Forrester Research

As I visited the website of Forrester Research, I definitely learned a lot about their brand.
Forrester Research helps organizations in their every day course of business by providing them
their best-selling service on the Web which is ​Research​. Moreover, clients of Forrester were
proved to be 34% more profitable than non-clients. The particular reason for this circumstance
is that Forrester has a unique value demonstrating their focus on customer obsession. They
want business leaders to embrace this concept which means putting customers at the center of
everything they do in their company for the exact purpose of driving growth and achieving more
as a business organization. Besides Research, Forrester also provides other services along the
lines of Analytics and Consultation. Forrester Analytics helps businesses to understand and
anticipate customers. On the other hand, consulting experts fueled by the customer-centric
research and analytics of Forrester, is beside clients/businesses to develop modern strategies
and help them achieve their vision and grow.
