Laboratory Critical Values List: Analytes Age Group Critical Low Critical High/ Toxic Units

This document lists critical lab values that require immediate follow up by a physician or healthcare provider. It defines the analytes, age groups, and critical low and high values for tests such as acetaminophen, alcohol, amikacin, bicarbonate, blood cultures, BUN, calcium, creatinine, cultures, cyclosporine, digoxin, and others. The age groups are defined as neonatal (less than 30 days), pediatric (30 days to 16 years), and adult (over 16 years). If no age is specified, the values apply to all age groups.
