MAnTAdigiTAl™ WorKSTATionS
Kelvin Hughes’ MantaDigital™ multifunction navigation workstation provides ECDIS, Radar and Conning functionality in
a single station. The different Type Approved modes can all be displayed with a simple ‘point and click’ at the relevant
screen icon.
AdvAnced Technology And FeATure rich
All MantaDigital™ workstations utilise the latest Kelvin Hughes technology and are able to
support the full range of features including: dual PPI, Enhanced Target Detection (ETD) and
ice detection, Chart Radar, Dynamic Clutter Suppression, Vessel Predictor, Radar Overlay and
SharpEye™ solid state radar compatibility. These features combine to provide an easy to use
radar display that signiicantly increases ship safety.
BuilT in FuncTionAl redundAncy
In a system consisting of two or more workstations, any individual workstation can be selected
to take over the role of any station.
Each singular multifunction workstation forms an independent ‘display – processor’ hardware/
software combination which can be conigured to provide a fully redundant back-up to other
MantaDigital™ stations in the bridge system. So a multifunction station operating as a Radar
or Conning display can also be a backup ECDIS and vice versa.
To provide fast response to the user and greater system reliability, MantaDigital™ does not rely on video switchers or network switching and it
is not necessary to re-start the system to bring mode changes online. Added to this, external sensor information is provided directly to all the
multifunction stations within the system avoiding the potential for single points of failure.
FlexiBiliTy
Any station on the bridge can be programmed to provide any functionality, at any time. This provides lexibility for the bridge team allowing all
relevant navigational information to be available at any workstation location, which can provide greater situation awareness, informed decision
making and enhanced navigational safety.
MantaDigital™ multifunctionality can be installed anywhere on the bridge so that navigational information is no longer restricted to just one or two
prime locations. Whether you are docking or navigating in open sea, the information is available where you need it and information can also be
tailored to meet different operational requirements.
The hardware is available for console, desktop, swivel tilt bracket and deck mounting, together with a choice of 22" or 26" screen sizes, which
allows a lexible and compact installation on any size of vessel.

Multifunctionality often allows fewer navigation stations to be used to meet navigational requirements and together with the absence of physical
switching circuitry, can result in a saving of both cost and space. Multifunctionality reduces the need for video switching with its complex
installation requirements and expensive switching technology.
