MEDICAL CLINICS AND SOCIAL SERVICE PROJECTS IN AMPARA DISTRICT ON 20th AND 21st OF
FEBRUARY 2021

You will be happy to know that the following medical clinics were carried out in Ampara as mentioned below.
1. Saturday 20th February from 1.00pm to 6.00pm – Pollebedda MahaVidyalaya, Ampara
2. Saturday 20th February from 8.00pm to 11.00pm - Jayathilakaramaya, Aranthalawa, Ampara
3. Sunday 21st February from10.00am to 5.00pm – Pushparamaya, Uhana, Ampara
4. Sunday 21st February from 7.00pm to 9.00pm – Bodhirajaramaya, Tampitiya
The following activities were carried out at the clinics:-
1. Observance of Pansil and observance of 2 minutes silence in memory of our fallen Ranaviru
2. Talk about the aims and activities of Success - Colombo and health education talks about hazards of smoking,
alcoholism & betel chewing by Dr. Anula Wijesundere
3. Examination of about 700 patients and distribution of free medicines
4. Distribution of exercise books and books on injury prevention in children to school children attending the clinics.
Exercise books were donated by the Udaya Child Development Centre, Badulla, and by Mrs Pushpa Ranadheera in
memory of her beloved husband, Mr. Ranadheera.
5. Classes in English and etiquette were conducted by Lakshmini and Priyanthi.
6. Donation of Rs.50,000/- towards construction of Budumadura at Jayatilakaramaya by Dr. Ajita Wijesundere
7. Talk on protection of our environment, dangers of polythene and never indulgence in smoking and alcohol to all
school children attending the Clinics by Dr. AnulaWijesundere.
8. Giving bread & butter, jam/eggs to all attending these clinics by Ms. Priyanthi Scharenguivel, Sepali Sri Namuni and
Anula Wijesundere. Distribution of biscuits donated by Priya Rajapaksha.
9. Toys for distribution among children – donated by Mr. Ranjith Wickramasinghe, Exercise books – donated by Udaya
Child Development Center. Exercise books and pastels for pre-school at Pollebedde donated by Dr. S. S. Jayaratne
10. The following contribution were made by members of Success-Colombo
a. Rs.8,000/- to Aranthalawa Remembrance Park
b. Rs.5,300/- to Buddhangala Aranaya
c. Rs.7,000/- to Ven. Dehigama Gnarathna Thero for medical expenses.
d. Rs.5,000/- to Cancer Care Hospital, Kandy
e. Rs.20,000/- to Electricity bill of Jayatilakaramaya, Aranthalawa by Success-Colombo.
11. We had the opportunity for paying homage at the Dalada Maligawa, Aranthalawa Remembrance Park and
Buddhangala Aranaya.
We are very grateful to the Army Commander Lt. Gen. Shavendra Silva for providing us transport.
We thank Colonel Gunasekara and Major Dileepa of Sinha regiment Kandy for providing us breakfast route to Ampara.
We are very grateful to the Governor of the Eastern Province, Mrs. Anuradha Yahampath, for providing us accommodation.
Mrs. Nilakshi Jayasekara is gratefully acknowledged for providing us two meals during our stay in Ampara.
