   For your information please
   RELIGIOUS ACTIVITIES, MEDICAL CLINICS AND SOCIAL SERVICE PROJECTS IN AMPARA DISTRICT
   ON 19th AND 20th OF SEPTEMBER 2020
   You will be happy to know that the following medical clinics were carried out in Ampara as mentioned below.
   1. Saturday 19th September from 1.00pm to 6.00pm – Pollebedda MahaVidyalaya, Ampara
   2. Saturday 19th September from 8.00pm to 11.00pm - Jayathilakaramaya, Aranthalawa, Ampara
   3. Sunday 20th Septemberfrom10.00am to 5.00pm –HulangNugeVidyalaya,HulangNuge, Ampara
   The following activities were carried out at the clinics:-
      1.   Observance of Pansil and observance of 2 minutes silence in memory of our fallen Ranaviru
      2.   Talk about the aims and activities of Success - Colombo and health education talks about hazards of smoking,
           alcoholism & betel chewing by Dr. Anula Wijesundere
      3. Examination of about 1,000 patients and distribution of free medicines
      4. Distribution of exercise books and books on injury prevention in children to school children attending the clinics.
           Exercise books were donated by the Udaya Child Development Centre, Badulla, and by Mrs Pushpa Ranadheera in
           memory of her beloved husband, MrRanadheera.
      5. Classes in English and etiquette were conducted by Priyanthi and Prisila.
      6. Donation of Rs.50,000/- towards construction of Budumadura at Jayatilakaramaya by Dr. Ajita Wijesundere
      7. Talk on protection of our environment, dangers of polythene and never indulgence in smoking and alcohol to all
           school children attending the Clinics by Dr. AnulaWijesundere.
      8. Donation of 100 Buddha Statues and 200 BudhuMaga magazines by PriyanthiScharenguivel.
      9. Distribution of biscuits to all attending these clinics by MsPriyaRajapaksha and PriyanthiScharenguivel.
      10. Donation of agricultural equipment to Govi Jana SewaPadanama of HulangNuge and 3 sewing machines to women’s
           organization of HulangNuge.

   The above contributions were possible due to the magnanimous donations by Profs Priyanthi& Prasad Kumarasinghe of
   Australia (Rs. 500,000) &Mrs Daya Piyasena (Rs. 25,000).
      11. We had the opportunity for paying homage at the historic MahiyanganaViharaya & Digawapi Viharaya. We also
           visited the Aranthalawa remembrance monument. Members of Success donated Rs 5700 towards maintenance of the
           Aranthalawa monument &Rs 5000 towards development of DigawapiViharaya.
      12. Doctors of Asiri Hospital donated Rs 7200 for 2 orphaned children looked after by their grandmother Sanjeewani
           Jayasekera of Nuwaragalathanna, Aranthalawa.
   We are very grateful to the Army Commander Lt.Gen.Shavendra Silva for providing us transport.
   We thank Colonel Priyanthaof Sinha regiment Kandy forproviding us breakfasten routetoAmpara.
   We are very grateful to the Governor of the Eastern Province, Mrs. AnuradhaYahampath, for providing us accommodation at
   her residence during our stay in Ampara.Sandaruwan is acknowledged for providing us meals.
