About- Happy Smile Club
Smile Foundation was initiated in 2002 when a group of friends came together
with the intention of giving back to the society. They were inspired by the thought
and philosophy of Peter Senge, the founder of the Society for Organizational
Learning who has propagated that "sustainability. social equality and the
environment are now business problems" and corporate leaders can't expect
governments to solve them alone.
Our approach is modeled around bringing change at all levels.
What triggered these thoughts was the liberalisation of the Indian economy in the
1990's which brought with it immense opportunities. Business revived, and India
became not just a market, but also an investment prospect for the developed world.
Disposable incomes and early settlements became a living reality for the working
middle-class. For the first time in India, professionals could think beyond making
a living, and contribute towards the society
With your support, we address children’s critical needs by working with parents,
teachers, anganwadi workers, communities, district and state level governments as
well as the children themselves.
We focus on changing behaviors and practices at the grassroots level and
influencing public policy at a systemic level- thereby creating an ecosystem
where children are made the nation’s priority.
Happy Smile Club is an NGO in India directly benefiting over 1500 children
every year, through more than 40 live welfare projects on education,
healthcare, livelihood and women empowerment, in over 20 remote villages
and slums across 2 states of India.

MISSION AND VISION
Education:- At Happy Smile Club we aim to work on the root
level of all the problems. We believe that if a child gets
educated at the primary level he/she can make an impact on
the lives of their families and friends. It is not just the child
but the whole community that gets better.
The problem of poverty arises because of lack of awareness
of opportunities due to illiteracy, we aim to end that
illiteracy.
Environment:- For the environment we believe that with the
ongoing situation we won't be able to make this world a
sustainable one for the future generations. We believe that if
we can all come together and try to reverse the process in
order to save the environment it can make a change.

Chapter-1
PLANTATION
On the first day of my community service at the Happy Smile Club, I participated
in a plantation drive organized by the NGO to promote environmental awareness
and sustainability. Along with other volunteers, I helped in planting saplings of
various trees and flowering plants around the NGO premises and nearby areas. The
activity was not just about planting trees, but also about understanding the
importance of greenery in maintaining ecological balance and combating
pollution. While engaging in the plantation work, I also got the chance to interact
with the children supported by the NGO. I took this opportunity to educate them
about the importance of taking care of the environment, saving water, and
adopting green habits in daily life.
Additionally, I spoke to them about basic good habits such as washing hands
before meals, brushing teeth twice a day, keeping their surroundings clean, and
being kind and respectful to others. The children were curious, attentive, and
excited to learn. We made the session interactive by asking questions and
encouraging them to share their own thoughts. It was heartwarming to see their
enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
Overall, the first day was a truly meaningful experience that combined practical
environmental work with moral education. It made me feel more responsible as a
citizen and gave me a sense of purpose, knowing that I was contributing in a small
way to shaping a better and greener future, while also guiding young minds
towards healthy, positive living.

VOTER EDUCATION AND AWARENESS : NEW WAYS
AND MEANS
WHY SHOULD PEOPLE VOTE FOR
1. Civic Duty: Voting is a fundamental democratic right and
responsibility. Participating in elections is a way for citizens to fulfill
their civic duty and contribute to the governance of their country.
2. Protecting Rights: Voting is a way to protect and advance civil liberties
and rights. Electing officials who are committed to upholding these
rights can help ensure their preservation.
3. Social Change: Voting can drive social change by supporting
candidates and initiatives that promote equality, justice, and progress.
It's a way to support social movements and reforms.
4. Community Voice: Voting allows communities to express their
collective voice. It ensures that diverse perspectives are represented
in government, leading to more inclusive and comprehensive
decision-making.
Chapter-3
FOOD DISTRIBUTION
One of the most impactful experiences during my community service at
Happy Smile Club was the day we organized a special food distribution
drive for slum children. The drive took place in a nearby slum area
where many underprivileged children live without access to regular
meals or proper nutrition. As we reached the location with packets of
freshly prepared food, the children gathered around with excitement and
innocent smiles that were truly heart-touching. Each meal box was
packed with care, containing healthy and filling items such as rice,
vegetables, fruits, and sweets to ensure both taste and nutrition.
Before distribution, we also engaged the children in light conversations
and fun activities to make them feel comfortable and valued. It wasn’t
just about giving food—it was about sharing joy, warmth, and a sense
of belonging. I noticed how grateful and happy the children were, even
for the simplest of things, which made me reflect on the privileges we
often take for granted.
Some of the children told us about their daily lives, their dreams, and
the challenges they face, and it was both inspiring and heartbreaking to
listen to them. This experience made me more compassionate and aware
of the responsibility we all have towards the less fortunate, especially
children who deserve a better future. The happiness in their eyes was the
biggest reward of the day, and I felt truly honored to be part of
something so meaningful.
Chapter-4
ORAL HEALTH AND HYGIENE SESSION
We have taught students about Oral health and hygiene. We brought some
pictures of decayed teeth and showed it to every child. Then we asked them
What can you see in this picture?
Answer from them was " We can see germs in the tooth". Our second
question was - Do you know where the germs come from ? Seeing that
nobody could answer the question, we began with our session. The germs
have come to eat leftover food in your mouth. So, after eating food we
should properly rinse our mouth in order not to get any germs. If we follow
up the below given points then we will never get cavities in our teeth.
1) Brush twice a day.
2) Always rinse your mouth
properly after having the
food.
3) Do not eat too many sweets and
candies.
4) Eat citrus fruits like orange,
lemons.
Benefits of Teaching Oral health and hygiene.
1) Oral health education is effective in improving the knowledge, attitude
and practice regarding oral health and in reducing plaque.
2) Good oral and dental hygiene can help prevent bad breath, tooth
decay and gum disease—and can help you keep your teeth as you get
older.
3) Having good oral hygiene also leads to better total body health and
will help you avoid problems like diabetes, heart disease or dementia.
Chapter-5
SPREADING SMILES THROUGH CLOTHES
As part of my community service with Happy Smile Club, I participated
in a clothes distribution activity in Greater Noida, aimed at helping
underprivileged children and families. The experience was not just
about handing over clothes—it was about spreading warmth, dignity,
and joy to those who often go unnoticed. The photo captured during this
moment reflects exactly that: two young girls from a local slum area
receiving clothes with innocent smiles and gratitude in their eyes.
Interacting with them was truly special. They were shy at first, but their
faces lit up as they received the clothes. It made me realize how
something so basic for us can mean the world to someone else. Moments
like these reminded me that kindness doesn’t always need to be grand
—small gestures can bring real happiness and comfort.
This activity taught me the importance of being socially responsible and
opened my heart to the beauty of giving. It wasn’t just about donating
clothes, but about connecting with people, listening to their stories, and
making them feel seen and valued. It was a day full of emotions, smiles,
and memories I will always carry with me.
MY LEARNING EXPERIENCE
My journey with Happy Smile Club as part of my community service
has been nothing short of transformative. Through various activities
like plantation, food and clothes distribution, and awareness sessions, I
learned that true service lies in compassion, consistency, and human
connection. It opened my eyes to the realities faced by underprivileged
communities and made me more grateful for the privileges I often take
for granted. Every smile I received in return, every conversation with a
child, and every small effort I made taught me the power of giving
—whether it’s time, effort, or kindness.
This experience has also helped me develop important values such as
empathy, responsibility, teamwork, and humility. It reminded me that
even a small contribution can make a big difference in someone’s life.
More than just a social project, this service was a journey of personal
growth and emotional awareness. I now carry a stronger sense of social
responsibility and a deeper desire to continue contributing to society in
whatever ways I can.
