Construction Observation, Inspection and Testing
The construction’s Inspection was conducted by ESC Supervisor, Mac Guison.
He was able to conduct monthly inspections except on rainy periods where he
conducted it daily. For the weather observation, we had a significant week where it
rained continuously causing the trucks to not be permitted to discharge but aside from
that there was no other problem regarding the weather condition. As for the site
inspection, there was no disturbance caused by our construction activities, no
construction materials exposed to precipitation, and control measures are installed in all
the required places. Also stabilization measures have been initiated so that we know the
point of discharge, areas where storm waters typically flow, sediments near the project
area boundary that has a potential of being washed outside of the project boundary on
locations such as roadways or parking lots, storm water conveyance systems, and
storm drain inlets. We also checked evidence for spills, leaks, or other accumulation of
pollutants on the site entering the stormwater conveyance system or water bodies, but
luckily there were no such evidences searched. The project area was in good condition
as there were no visible areas where erosion has occurred therefore there is no chance
of it to be washed outside the project boundary. Perimeter controls are in place and
functioning adequately and all the sediment-laden storm water on site has been treated
prior to discharge, and with all that being said, we can say that proper erosion and
sediment control have been applied. The company has complied for all the needs for
the project to run smoothly, and so the project inspector ESC Supervisor, Mac Guison
has approved that our control measures have met the requirements of Bylaws and
Permits as the BMPs were applied throughout the project phases.
