INTRODUCTION
HONDA F4
4 SPEED
This manual covers only the Honda F4 transaxle installed in fuel injected Preludes from 1985-1987 and all
Accords from 1986-1989 sold in the US the transaxle is transverse mounted and has four forward speeds and a
converter clutch. The 4th gear is a .700 to 1 ratio. The shifts are computer controlled. Converter clutch is
available for 2nd gear up. The throttle valve cable controls two different T.V. Systems regulating shift feel and
timing. First gear does not have engine breaking.
