You do not need to prepare anything before-hand. We will be doing cold reads, and the
sides will be available to pick up the day of. Video auditions will also be accepted until
5p.m. on March 2nd. Please email me to audition virtually.
Synopsis: OPEN i s a magic act, without magic. The act reveals itself to be a resurrection.
A woman called the Magician presents a myriad of tricks for our entertainment, yet her
performance seems to be attempting the impossible to save the life of her partner, Jenny.
The Magician’s act may be our last hope against a world filled with intolerance and hate.
Content Warning: This scene deals heavily with assault, homophobia, death, and has
explicit language.
Safety Precautions: Actors and Director will be 6 feet apart at all times and masked.
Character Breakdown:
Magician: Female-presenting character. Honest, loving, clinging to illusions. Working
through the loss of her girlfriend, Jenny. Looking for a creative physical attack.
Magician’s Assistant: This character will serve as an additional storyteller in the magic
act. They may serve as a representation of several different characters in the Magician’s
life.
