PART I.
A. Introduction:
Festival dances are part of our Filipino culture. People from all over the country have developed
andestablished these dances for entertainment purposes and eventually contributed to improve our
economy.However there is much more to be considered aside from the entertainment and economic value;
festival dances help improve the physical wellness of those who are engaged in the dance making them more
capable to do more productive things other then dancing.
B. Discussions:
Festival dances and physical fitness tells me that both are essential to each other. First, festival
dances involve music and dancing. Music is an art that does not only benefit our ears but also brings peace
to our minds. Physical fitness is largely influenced by a person's mental and emotional health. Music helps a
lot in this area, since music has a large genre, then people will surely find something of their taste. Festival
music are cheerful and upbeat causing a person's energy to rise and will have positive effect on the body.
Dancing is also a way of achieving your physical fitness. Dancing, regardless of the style, is
an exercise which contributes to an individual's physical health. Just as how important festival dances are to
physical fitness, physical fitness is also important to festival dances. In order to perform more effectively,
you need to be physically fit because after all, these dances are performed whole-heartedly as it is a
celebration of sacred events. Here are some basics steps in Festival dance.

Exerciseis a type of physical activity that requires planned, structured and repetitive bodily

activity that requires a vigorous intensity effort.
Popular ways to be active are through walking, cycling, sports, dancing, doing households chores,
gardening and recreation, and can be done at any level of skill and for enjoyment.
C. Readings:
Among the benefits of regular physical activity and exercise significantly reduced risks for
developing heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, colon and breasts cancers, high blood pressures, and
osteoporotic fractures. It is also important for health of muscles, bones and joints and it seems to reduce
symptoms of depression and anxiety, improve mood and enhance one’s ability to perform daily tasks.
