The Cosy Crochet Nook Designs by Miss Jinty

Anneke Sweet Little Dutch Girl

Clothes and Clogs Pattern © MissJinty

Hello everyone! Here are my instructions for Anneke the sweet little Dutch girl for
the Big Head Baby Doll pattern originally found here
http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/big-head-baby-doll
I had super fun making her and I’m sure you will too!
Please note I used a 3.5mm hook and DK yarn to make the actual doll so if you are
making larger use the correct hook for the yarn weight!

Materials needed:
3.5 mm hook
DK (light worsted) yarn in colors of your choosing, I have used Stylecraft
Special DK in red, white, yellow, blue, turquoise and green
Yarn needle
Abbreviations

Ch = chain
Sc = single crochet
Hdc = half double crochet
Dc = double crochet
Inc = increase (2stitches in same stitch)
Dc2tog = double crochet 2 together
Sc2tog = single crochet 2 together
BLO = back loop only

Skirt

With blue ch29, join to beginning chain to create a ring making sure not to twist
the chains
R1-2: ch2 (does not count as a stitch) dc around and join to first dc (29dc)
R3 ch2 inc in same space as ch2, dc in next stitch (inc,dc) around, join to first
dc (43dc)
R4: ch2 and dc around join to first dc (43dc)
R5: ch2 inc in same space as ch2, dc in next stitch (inc, dc) around, join to first
dc (64dc)
R6-7: ch1, sc around join to first sc

Fasten off and weave in ends

Using green, evenly stitch along the bottom of the skirt, this will create the
stems for the little flowers/buds
Using turquoise, create 2 French knots (I wrapped the yarn around the needle 4
times) using the picture as a guideline for placement, if you don’t know how to do
French knots YouTube has plenty of videos that will show you how to do them.

Apron

R1: With white ch7, sc in 2nd ch from hook and across, ch1 and turn
R2-7: inc in first stitch, sc across and inc in last stitch, ch1 and turn
R8-9: sc across ch1 and turn
R10: (2sc, ch1, 2sc) in first stitch, skip stitch, sc in next stitch, skip
stitch...repeat across.
Don’t fasten off! Continue from round 10 by sc evenly up side, across top and
back down the other side and slip stitch to first sc from R10
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Stitch the apron on to blue skirt at the top, fasten off weave in ends and slip it
on to your doll.

Bodice Top

R1: With red ch25, sc in 2nd ch from hook and across, ch1 and turn
R2-4: sc across, ch1 and turn
R5: sc 11 across, hdc in next stitch, dc2 ch1 dc2 in next stitch, hdc in next
stitch, sc in remaining stitches. Fasten off leaving a long tail to stitch the back
of the bodice up once you have done detail to front and placed the bodice onto
your doll

Straps
Place the bodice on front of your doll, using stitch markers mark out the stitch
closest to each arm
R1: Attach yarn to stitch where you placed your marker with a slip stitch, ch1 sc
in same space you attached, sc in next stitch, ch1 and turn
R2-8: sc across, ch1 and turn

Fasten off leaving a tail to stitch the strap on to the back of the bodice

Using picture as your guide, do the detail on front of the bodice using green for
stem and yellow for the French knots

Once your bodice is complete, position it on front of your doll, stitch the back
up and stitch straps to back of bodice.

Clogs (Make 2)

R1: With yellow ch9, 2hdc in 3rd ch from hook, hdc in next 3 stitches, 1sc in next
stitch, 1hdc in next stitch 4hdc in last
now work your way along the opposite side of your chain
1hdc in next stitch, 1sc in next stitch, hdc in next 3 stitches, 2hdc in beginning
chain you placed the first 2hdc. Join to first hdc with a slip stitch

R2: ch2, 2hdc in same stitch as join, 1hdc in next stitch, 2hdc in next stitch,
hdc in next 2 stitches, 1sc in next stitch, hdc in next stitch, (2hdc in next
stitch) repeat for a total of 4 times, hdc in next stitch, 1sc in next stitch, hdc
in next 2 stitches, 2hdc in next stitch, hdc in next stitch, 2hdc in last stitch
join to first hdc of the round with a slip stitch
R3: Ch2 and hdc around in BLO, join to first hdc of the round with a slip stitch

R4: C1, slip stitch in next 4 stitches, sc in next 4 stitches, hdc in next 2
stitches, dc2tog x 3, hdc in next 2 stitches, sc in next 4 stitches, slip stitch in
last 4 stitches, join to first sc of the round and fasten off, weave in ends

R5: Attach yarn and slip stitch into the 4th slip stitch from the start of R4, sc
in next 4 stitches, hdc in next 2 stitches, dc2tog, hdc in next 2 stitches, sc in
next 4 stitches, slip stitch in to next stitch c1 and turn

R6: skip first slip stitch, sc in next 4 stitches, sc2tog (twice), sc in next 3
stitches, skip next stitch and slip stitch in last stitch
Fasten off weave in ends

Using yellow yarn or thread whatever you prefer, stitch clogs on to legs and
shape the toe area to a slight point using your fingers, easy to manipulate the
yarn in to position!

Hat

For the hat I used a 3.5mm hook and the pattern Pixie Bonnet
by Shara Lambeth with added permission to give you the alteration rows to
complete the Dutch look to this hat, so click the link given, do the hat then
come back and follow these next few rows!

R1: Attach yarn to front of the hat, ch2 and dc across (46dc) ch2 and turn
R2: dc 20 along, hdc, sc in next 4, hdc, dc in remaining 20 stitches, ch2 and turn

R4: sc along front edge of hat, along the back and along to the other side front
edge, fasten off and weave in ends

Tulip

I found the most adorable tulip pattern ever by Lisa Eberhart and asked
permission to share her link, please note I used DK yarn for this (light worsted)
and safety eyes instead of felt!
