MODULE School Year and Quarter 4th QUARTER 2020-2021
Teacher Ms. Rossele Mission
OBJECTIVES
Distinguish slow, slower, fast, and faster in recorded music.

Topic
Tempo

- -

Tempo shows how fast or how slow music is. The terms used to describe the tempo of music are
slow, slower, fast, or faster.
Music with fast tempo can cause us to make fast body movements. This is like fast tapping of
the hand, stomping of the foot, moving of the head, and even dancing. Slow music can cause us to
make slow body movements. Sing the song “Hickory Dickory Dock”. Think of very simple body
movements that you can do while singing.

Tempo can also be associated with animal movements. You can mimic the movements of some
animals to demonstrate the tempo of music. For fast music, you can run like a horse. For moderate
music, you can walk like a cat. For slow music, you can walk like an elephant.
