xxxx - xxxx MAN OVER BOARD DRILL

General alarm. Man Overboard Drill, was announced threw Public Address System.
Crew mustered at M.O.B. Muster Station - head count conducted. VHF
communication with bridge was positively established. Knowledge of emergency
duties checked for all crew. Procedures for M.O.B. situation and Rescue Boat
launching were further explained. Rescue Boat davit emergency operation with gas
cylinder was tested. All crew were instructed about use of Rescue Boat davit for
releasing of Life Rafts.
All of the equipment used, was found fully operational and in good condition.
Drill completed.

xxxx – xxxx RESCUE BOAT LAUNCHING DRILL


Designated crew checked rescue boat engine operation (ahead/astern), fuel level
and prepared Rescue Boat for launch. When everything was ready, Bosun lowered
rescue boat into the water using the davit with 3crew onboard: 3/O, M/M, O/S. In
water, engine started normally, davit wire and painters were released. Rescue Boat
maneuvered freely in water. Then forward and aft painters were attached, boat hook
reset and davit wire connected. Boat was successfully recovered from water, put in
position and secured properly.
All of the equipment used, was found fully operational and in good condition.
Drill completed.

xxxx - xxxx TRAINING – DAVIT LAUNCHED LIFERAFTS


All crew mustered at M.O.B. muster station. C/OFF and 3/OFF explained
procedures for normal and emergency operation of the survival craft crane.
Procedures for launching Life Rafts incl. explaining and checking davit’s launching
arrangements, preparation for launching and launching operation were explained to
all crew. Then all crew participated in practical training for using davit and hooks for
launching life rafts.
All of the equipment used, was found fully operational and in good condition.
Drill completed.

xxxx - xxxx FIRE DRILL


General alarm - Fire Drill sounded. Fire in ’’PLACE’’ was announced through Public
System. The crew with life jackets and immersion suits mustered at Muster Station -
head count conducted. VHF communication with bridge was positively established.
Knowledge of emergency duties checked for all crew.
Two fire lines were correctly prepared and emergency fire pump tested – water
pressure OK. Rescue team dressed in Fireman Outfits with breathing apparatus – all
in good condition. Assigned crew closed ventilation flaps and cut off power. Rescue
team, according to the procedures, entered superstructure and proceeded to Galley
and located fire. Fire was positively extinguished, no casualties were found. Fire
team has withdrawn to Muster Station.
All of the equipment used, was found fully operational and in good condition.
Drill completed.
xxxx - xxxx ABANDON SHIP DRILL
General alarm sounded. Abandon Ship Drill was announced threw public system.
The crew with life jackets and immersion suits mustered at Muster Station - head
count conducted. VHF communication with bridge was positively established.
Knowledge of emergency duties checked for all crew.
Checked if life jackets were correctly worn and donned. Life Jackets & Immersion
Suits were all found in good working condition. Crew boarded Life Boat, seat belts
were donned properly. All crew were instructed about procedures regarding
launching, starting the engine and proper operation of Free-Fall Life Boat. Engine
started normally, operation ahead and astern checked. Rudder operation checked.
All of the equipment used, was found fully operational and in good condition.
Drill completed.

xxxx - xxxx FREE - FALL LIFE BOAT LAUNCHING IN THE WATER


General alarm - Abandon Ship Drill sounded. Free-fall Life Boat launching drill -
announced through Public Address System. Drill included mustering at the muster
station with life jackets and immersion suites, checking of the duty knowledge and
explaining procedures for launching Life Boat. Then Preparations were made for
launching lifeboat in the water using ramp and crane.
Operating crew of 4 crew members (3/O; 3/E; A/B2; A/B3) boarded Life Boat and
fastened seatbelts. VHF communication with boat crew was established and the
order was given by Master to release the boat hook. Boat was attached to the crane,
electrical cable and securing wire were disconnected. Safety pin was removed and
operating crew activated release mechanism. Life Boat moved from its position and
was lowered on the rollers using crane. When Life Boat was afloat, it was
disconnected from the crane, engine started normally and it maneuvered freely in
water.
Then Life Boat was put back in position using the crane and stowed properly.
All the equipment was found in good condition and fully operational.
Drill completed.

xxxx - xxxx IMMERSION SUIT TRAINING


The crew mustered with life jackets and immersion suits at Muster Station - head
count conducted. All crew was instructed on how to equip Immersion Suit and Life
Jacket properly. Checked if Immersion Suits and Life Jackets were correctly worn
and donned, and lights working properly.
All the equipment was found in good condition and fully operational.
Drill completed

xxxx - xxxx EEBD TRAINING


All crew gathered in conference room. EEBD TRAINING commenced.
C/OFF instructed and shown to crew when and how towear and use EEBD properly.
Location of EEBD devices on board was explained to the crew.
Drill completed.
xxxx - xxxx ENCLOSED SPACE ENTRY AND RESCUE DRILL
Procedures and preparations before entering any enclosed space were explained by
Ch/Off. At each entry the risk should be assessed and the atmosphere inside
enclosed space tested. Proper ventilation of the entire compartment has to be
conducted, permit for the entry has to be completed by Master or responsible person.
During the drill PPE was checked, communication devices, rescue and gas detecting
equipment were tested and found in good condition. First aid procedures were
explained to the Crew. Crew responsible for the enclosed space entry was
familiarized with their duties.
xxxx - xxxx RESCUE DRILL – FRESH - WATER TANK STBD
Crew mustered in steering gear room, with necessary equipment prepared: breathing
apparatus, EEBD, harness, line and stretcher. Breathing Apparatus and EEBD were
checked and found in good condition. Risk was assessed, communication
established and rescue team simulated recovering unconscious crew from FWTK
STBD. Unconscious crew was transported out using stretcher.
All the equipment was found in good condition and fully operational.
Drill complete.

xxxx - xxxx EMERGENCY STEERING DRILL.


The crew mustered at steering gear room. Communication between bridge and steering
gear room was established. C/E explained the procedure for emergency steering, and
passing rudder control to steering gear room to the crew . Executed changing steering
from bridge to emergency steering in engine room. Tested emergency operation with
Pump 1 and Pump 2 respectively. Compared rudder indicators in Steering Gear Room
and on the bridge. Emergency steering was then carried out as per helm orders given by
master.
All the equipment was found in good condition and fully operational.
Drill completed.

xxxx - xxxx MAIN ENGINE FAILURE.


General alarm sounded. Main Engine Failure drill – announced through Public
Address System. Drill included mustering at the muster station with life jackets and
immersion suits. VHF communication with bridge was established. Then C/ENG and
2/ENG familiarized the crew with emergency procedures in case of Main Engine
Failure.
Drill completed.

xxxx - xxxx MAIN ELECTRIC POWER FAILURE


General alarm sounded. Main Electric Power Failure drill – announced through
Public Address System. Drill included mustering at the muster station with life jackets
and immersion suits. VHF communication with bridge was established. Crew was
familiarized by C/ENG and ELECTRICIAN about emergency procedures in case of
Main Electric Power Failure. Then crew was taken to Emergency Generator room
and familiarized how to start and stop Emergency Generator Engine.
Drill completed.
xxxx - xxxx HELICOPTER OPERATION TRAINING
All crew gathered in conference room. HELICOPTER OPERATION TRAINING commenced.
C/O explained helicopter operations including landing and winching at sea on vessel for
purpose including communication between ship and helicopter for winch operation. winching
can be hazardous to the person being hoisted. The rescue facilities and other the scene of
winching helicopter to ship (and other way around) such as a collection of internationally
developed phrases to avoid any misunderstandings were given to the crew. Vessel
preparation including information exchange (vessel position, course & speed, local weather
conditions) How to identify vessel from above. Position for landing or pick up area
(day/night). Safety precautions to be taken and stand-by equipment were pointed out. Drill
completed.

xxxx - xxxx EMERGENCY TOWING TRAINING


All crew gathered in conference room. EMERGENCY TOWING TRAINING commenced.
Checked crew list, life jackets and communication with bridge. Chief Officer
rexplained procedures, duties & dangers during emergency towing operations. Chief
Officer explained about towing patterns and connecting the towing line between the
ship and towing ship. Crew was instructed about necessary equipment for the towing
operations.
Drill completed.
