Assembly
Now that we’ve got all our pieces, grab some pins and let’s start putting them together!

6
TIP:
Use the line formed by the ch 3 of
the main heart body as a centering
line when pinning on the pulmonary
veins and the superior vena cava
(the right and left sides respectively).

Using the pictures below, pin the pieces in place on the main heart body. The slip
stitch curve of the aorta will go over the long arm of the pulmonary artery.
Sew all of the pieces in place, weaving in the ends as you go. Since all of these pieces
are open-ended, we won’t be stuffing them.
Once all of these pieces are sewn on we can add the three aorta vein tubes.

7
When sewing the three little tubes
onto the aorta: before weaving in the
end of the tube closest to the heart
body, use it to tack the curve of the
aorta in place around the long arm
of the pulmonary artery. You can see
my tacking stitch that goes through
the gold aorta, the purple artery arm,
out through the opening of the aorta
and then back through before I wove in the end. You don’t have to pull this tight, this is
just to keep the curve curvy!

FINISHING TOUCHES!
Using a length of the yarn color you used for the aorta, stitch a branching vein from
between the pulmonary veins and the pulmonary artery down towards the eyes. I used
a chain stitch for this.
With fabric paint or a scrap of black yarn, add a little smile between the eyes.
