Plant Design (Floor)

We used several types of flooring in our bakery company's facilities based on the needs of each area. Polyurethane flooring was used in the processing area as it is durable, scratch and slip resistant. Ceramic tiles were used in toilets and sanitation rooms as they are easy to clean and maintain hygiene. Epoxy flooring was used in finishing, storage, weighing and packing areas as it is durable, chemical and wear resistant which is important for these work areas.

Polyurethane flooring

We used polyurethane flooring for our company’s processing area. Polyurethane

consists of synthetic resins in three parts that combine easily and with little odour. It
can take on a decorative quartz look or resin chips or just integrally coloured
concrete look, and it is characterized by its resistance to high pressure, impact and
wear. We chose polyurethane flooring because it is designed to be scratch-resistant
and durable. This makes the system well-suited for forklift trucks, heavy pallet lifters
and other material handling equipment. The urethane-enhanced cement makes the
floor moisture resistant. Hence, additives can make the floor non-skid, for example
even if something slippery like flour or wet ingredient like melted butter spills on it,
therefore safety is not a concern. Another reason of choosing these type of flooring
is because it is formulated to be thermal resistant likewise, it is suitable from dry
storage to cold storage to heated oven rooms yet the best flooring for bakery
industries which covers both very hot to very cold surfaces. Moreover, polyurethane
floors are able to tolerate the giant mixers used in our company to mix dough which
cause a high amount of vibrations to go through the flooring.  A polyurethane floor is
resistant to the usual food-grade chemicals used in our company. In addition,
polyurethane floors are usually low-maintenance, hygiene, safe and only consumes
less time our workers needs to spend maintaining a floor, yet more time workers can
spend being productive within our company.
Ceramic tiles

We used ceramic tiles in company's toilet and sanitation room. Ceramic tiles is the
most popular choice for toilet. Ceramic tiles are a mixture of clays and other natural
materials such as sand, quartz and water. It is often used in kitchen and bathrooms
as well as foyers, mudrooms and other high-traffic areas. The main reason for
choosing ceramic tiles in toilet and sanitation room are known for becoming wet and
dirty easily because of all the liquid that spills on the floor. Ceramic tiles doesn’t
absorb water and germs and cleans easily, which makes it a great option for sterile
environments. When small particles do land on a ceramic floor, they stand out
against the surface. It make it easy to wipe them away with a mop or sponge. This
helps to keep the air free of irritating materials that can be harmful to asthma and
allergy sufferers. Besides that, ceramic tiles show good strength and can withstand
high temperature and acidic material.  Ceramic tiles have a hard and solid surface. It
can last around 10-20 years with proper maintenance. It takes a lot of weight for a
ceramic tile to break, so don’t have to worry about any cracks or dents from heavy
furniture. This kind of tile is durable enough for commercial spaces. Therefore, in our
bakery industry there is no need to change the tiles frequently due to damages.
Ceramic tiles are easy to maintain, from simple cleaning to optional sealing over
time. Beside basic routine cleaning, there is no special maintenance involved.
Moreover, this tiles is used in toilet and sanitation room to ensure the safety of our
employees. Because matte finish ceramic tiles also come with anti-skid properties
however, they are mostly safe and don’t let you slip or skid. These can avoid some
unforeseen accidents and last as long as a marble floor without causing
unnecessary stains on the floor.
Epoxy flooring

We used ceramic tiles in company's finishing goods store, dry store, wet and
packaging store, weighing room, changing room, chemical store, and packing room.
Epoxy coatings are normally applied over concrete floors to provide a high-
performance, smooth, and durable surface that can last many years and withstand
heavy loads. Epoxy is a material used for sealing concrete floors and as an adhesive.
Epoxy floor coating not only protects surfaces against damage but also leaves
otherwise well-trafficked facilities looking professional and appealing. From
warehouses and manufacturing plants to laboratories, garages, auto shops, and
pathways, the application of this coating system for industrial and commercial
buildings is as diverse as epoxy flooring benefits. It is not unusual to apply epoxy
coating on ceilings and walls either. This high impact, seamless surface is capable of
lasting a long while and enduring heavy loads and rough treatment. Epoxy floor is
chemically Resilient.  Well-designed epoxy floor coatings and other resinous finishes
can survive exposure to strong chemicals, solvents and exposure to extreme pH. This
is ideal for manufacturing facilities that may use such substances on a regular basis.
Depending upon formulation, once the high-performance coating components cure,
the resulting solid polymer surface can be incredibly strong and prevent chemical and
physical breakdown. Epoxy and other resin-based finishes have customizable skid-
resistance to help prevent slips and falls. Some offer static control properties and most
have a “self-extinguishing” fire rating. By nature, resinous flooring does not promote
the growth of harmful mold, however additional antimicrobial additives, such as
FloroSeptic can help further inhibit the spread of pathogens. These and other factors
will help uphold both the safety of your employees and your structure.

Concrete floors coated with resinous finishes, such as epoxy, last longer and resist
substantial wear, thus saving facilities money and allowing managers to devote
resources to other aspects of the business. Once concrete has been properly
prepared and coated in a high-quality resin or epoxy floor covering, it is no longer
porous. That means dirt, chemicals and other substances remain on the surface and
the floor is easier to clean. Lack of grout lines means quicker sanitation and fewer man
hours scrubbing. Plus, many resinous finishes, such as Florock Floors, never need
waxing. Many of our customers prefer a high-gloss option for coatings, which can
enhance lighting due to reflection. Light-colored floors can also help brighten the
space and occupants’ mood.A properly coated concrete floor has a safe, monolithic
surface, free of unevenness, cracks and potholes. This helps keep forklift loads level,
vehicle suspension systems and tires intact. As the result of well-selected epoxy or
resinous floor, the money and time spent maintaining and repairing truck loading
equipment can be greatly reduced.
