Application
®
application in liquid coatings The Joncryl SGO acrylic resins for high-solids 2K PUR coatings are
used as sole binders in coating systems which – dependent on the
hardener used – have a drying time of more than one hour.
®
Joncryl 592 has a high polyisocyanate hardener demand. To achieve
best chemical resistance, for a high solid system.
®
Joncryl 592 is preferably used in high-solids topcoats which have to
meet higher demands to mechanical and chemical resistances.
®
advice on formulation Coatings based on Joncryl SGO acrylic resins for 2K PUR coatings
can, depending on crosslinking, be pigmented with pigments suitable
for baking or 2K PUR finishes. The excellent pigment binding capacity
allows excellent gloss even at high pigmentation levels (e. g., 1 part by
weight of solid binder to 1–1.4 parts by weight of titanium dioxide).

Matting of coating surfaces is possible with conventional matting
agents. However, film shrinkage is reduced so that more matting agent
should be added to the formulation. The resistance to chemicals of
heavily matted surfaces may be impaired.
®
Joncryl 592 could be catalyzed with typical catalysts for 2K PUR
systems. Around 2 % of 2,4-Pentandione could increase coatings
potlife, if metal catalyst are used.
Suitable crosslinking agents are:
aliphatic polyisocyanates (HDI- and IPDI-based)
combinations of aliphatic and aromatic polyisocyanates (TDI-based)
melamine resins (preferably of the HMMM type)
Safety
When handling this product please comply with the advice and information given in the safety data sheet and observe protective and workplace hygiene measures
adequate for handling chemicals.
