Company website www.urbancompany.com

Urbanclap has changed their name to Urban company as they wanted a GLOBALLY
ACCEPTABLE name because the company has been expanded to Australia, Singapore and
UAE and announced that it has renamed itself as Urban Company. The new umbrella brand
captures the company’s ambition to be a horizontal gig marketplace with a global footprint
across categories like beauty & wellness and home repairs & maintenance.

Revenue Model of the Website

It uses a 4 way approach
 Commission Model : It generates 85% of its overall revenue by subscription. They
charge some percentage of the total rice of the service to the business owner in the
commission-based process. Depending on their job, they demand specific
commissions from each vendor or servicemen. Therefore, the more work they have
done, the more reward they get from providing home services.

 Reverse Auction : The Urban Company promotes the services of service providers.
In return, they charge a fixed amount from them. Besides promoting, the brand assists
the service providers in lead generation and conversions.

 Advertisement: The manufacturers, services, and businesses use the Urban Company
platform to run their promotional stuff and advertisements in exchange for an
advertising fee to the brand.
 Lead Generation : The Urban Company allows the users to list their needs regarding
home services, like as plumber, carpenter, beautician, etc. So, the company offers the
users leads from professionals who can offer them the services they want. And on the
other hand, once the user chooses an expert, the brand charges both the service
provider and the user an amount for the lead generation.

2 . Business model of the website

UrbanClap Business Model-

How it Works
Being an online platform, UrbanClap connects internet users with offline workers. UrbanClap
was essentially a search-and-find tool during the initial stages.

Today, however, it has a model that lists professionals, trains them if necessary, and then
connects them to the users in real-time. On the site, users can effectively book regular services.

We just need to check the app, select the services we need, and then schedule service according to
their own convenience. Whereas one location UrbanClap promotes the process of identifying
trained local business professionals; it also supports service providers by removing intermediaries
and allowing them direct access to consumers.

The business model of UrbanClap

works in two-ways.
1. Fixed Charged Services

For plumbing, electrical work for home maintenance, the organization accepts the money from
the app and then charges its dues to the hired assistance.

They cut a different fee off the collected funds.

2. Services Without Any Fixed Charges

The company is paying lead generation and funding listing to the experts.

The customers are not charged right away. They know the operation. The specialist shall pay a
fee for approving the order. If the expert is able to persuade the customer to purchase the service,
then monetizing is a success.

Five options are given to the user from which to choose the most comfortable choice. If the
service provider’s profile is not shown, he earns payable credit. If the algorithm is successful,
then less work must be performed by the user.
Working Of UrbanClap’s Business
Model
Service Receiver’s End

 Using the app, users can go using a list of resources and select the correct one, based on
their requirements.
 UrbanClap’s business model allows the customer to select a specific service; they can
choose from a range of choices for one product. The option is usually based on a user’s
budget.
 After purchasing the kit, the customer must pick a date and time for the appointment.
 The application enables users to test the service provider and its assets. The presence can
be assured by visiting the visitor’s page.
 Payments are made using advance or COD (Cash On Delivery).
 Users rate the app and review them.

Service Provider’s End

 The app has a dual purpose-one for the individual and one for the specialist
 The practitioners in that field provide a notice when a service is requested. Whether they
embrace or they reject it.
 UrbanClap’s business model is structured to allow the professionals to evaluate their job
obligations and to approve or reject the request for service accordingly.
 When the request is approved, alerts are received from the customer and provider to
validate the booking.
 The service providers are fined if any they back out.

Revenue Model Of
UrbanClap
UrbanClap uses a four-way approach when it comes to earning money. This lists two categories
of options, one being the booking section and the fixed pricing services accounts, and the other
being the non-booking or variable pricing services.

The business takes two strategies focused on the same, to bring capital to the table.

 Commission Model

UrbanClap generates 85 percent of its overall revenue by subscription. They charge some
percentage of the total price of the service to the business owner in the commission-based
process.

In this way, they support all customers by providing them with fast and reliable service.
Depending on their job, they demand specific commissions from each vendor or servicemen.
Therefore, the more work they have done, the more reward they get from providing home
services.

 Reverse Auction

UrbanClap has supported the strategy of charging the specialist for lead generation and listing for
the second group (photographers, interior designers, or yoga instructors). It’s sort of like a reverse
auction. Through this method, the customers are not specifically booking the service. Instead,
they spend time in their awareness of the operation. To approve the request a specialist must pay
a fee.

Monetization here is based entirely on the ability of the specialist to convince the customer to
book the service. UrbanClap introduces the user to five experts, who may vote for one after their
assessment. When a professional’s profile isn’t presented, the professional gets his credit paid
back. Here’s where the algorithm for matchmaking comes in. The better the algorithm here the
lesser is the work to be done by the customers.

 Lead Generation

Lead generation also offers a good way to generate income. But the key source of revenue
generation for UrbanClap is by commissioning charging. The customer defines the requirement in
lead generation. Accordingly, either the client can contact the aforementioned experts or they can
contact the client.

In this way, UrbanClap is giving rise to serviceman customers looking for a specific service. With
this, UrbanClap charges to the lead generation from professionals and servicemen.

Besides all the above-listed ways of earning money, there is another way of earning more money
which is – advertisement. Businesses, suppliers, and providers use the UrbanClap platform to
display their advertisements in return for the company’s advertisement fees.

Two–Fold Business Model of UrbanClap

For your routine needs, the Urban Company offers the best-suited
professionals.

An automated matchmaking algorithm that Urban Company uses

states guiding them on a pathway to success.

The company gets a background check and conducts police

verification for every partnered professional to make the platform safe
for you.

Let’s now check out the business model of the Urban Company:
Fixed Charged Services
As for what app is used, the users book a home service for an
electrician or plumbing job and pay for the help from the company.

Next, the company accepts the payment and pays it ahead to the hired
help post cutting a fixed commission.

So, when the company receives a fixed commission for offering a hired
service, it’s known as the fixed charged services.

Services without Fixed Charges

The company charges the experts for sponsored listing and lead
generation.

According to this, first, the professional pays a fee for accepting the
request.

On the other edge, the user is not needed to pay instantly, and it
entirely relies on professionals. If they meet the users’ expectations,
they are paid for the services, and monetization becomes successful.

When it comes to users, they receive five options on their table, from
which they can choose, suiting their comfort.

In the past few years, the Urban Company has caught up with ultimate
success at a constant pace. Besides understanding the users’
requirements, they allocate the right resources and track the whole
process simultaneously.

Lately, the UrbanClap app has started utilizing Artificial Intelligence

for data that assist them in assessing the users’ requirements.

The founder of this brand has merged AI, and Machine Learning
supported processes to uncover how the decisions are finalized.

The company handles every department seamlessly and efficiently so a

user can experience top-quality services at home.
If the company moves ahead like the same, the Urban Company’s
business model will emerge as an aspiring accomplishment.

Revenue Model: How Urban Company Makes

Money?
The Urban Company generates money in four ways:

Reverse Auction
The Urban Company promotes the services of service providers. In
return, they charge a fixed amount from them. Besides promoting, the
brand assists the service providers in lead generation and
conversions.

Commission-based
UrbanClap produces around 85% of the profits using this revenue
model.
As we know, the Urban Company provides on-demand home services
by professionals; it charges a fixed cost from the users demanding the
services. Ahead, the brand pays a commission for any task the
professionals perform for the customers.

So, here the company acts as an intermediary and grabs a share in

sales.  The more experts get their job done, the more profit the app
receives.

Advertisements
The manufacturers, services, and businesses use the Urban Company
platform to run their promotional stuff and advertisements in
exchange for an advertising fee to the brand.

Lead Generation
Well, the commission model is for specific and fixed jobs. But, what
about the consumers who can approach a particular need?

The Urban Company allows the users to list their needs regarding
home services, like as plumber, carpenter, beautician, etc. So, the
company offers the users leads from professionals who can offer them
the services they want.

And on the other hand, once the user chooses an expert, the brand
charges both the service provider and the user an amount for the lead
generation.

3 .Payment system
India's leading digital wallet and payments firm FreeCharge UrbanClap, India's
largest mobile services marketplace today announced their partnership for cashless
payments across 97 service categories listed on UrbanClap.

With the partnership, FreeCharge customers can avail services like photographers,
electricians, home cleaning and repairs, salon at home and several others across top
eight cities in the country including Delhi/NCR, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai,
Hyderabad, Pune, Kolkata and Ahmedabad.

In order to avail the service, once the customer books a service on UrbanClap, he
will get an option to pay via Cash on Delivery or online after service completion. The
customer just needs to select pay online after completion and use FreeCharge to
make the payment to UrbanClap once the service is completed.

"The services landscape in the country is pre-dominantly unstructured and thus

relies heavily on cash payments. UrbanClap is doing great in bringing about
structure to the sector and provides a massive opportunity for cashless transactions
with these services and their payments going online. We envision this partnership
playing a key role in moving towards a less cash society and hope it achieves the
purpose," said Chief Business Officer FreeCharge, Sudeep Tandon.

UrbanClap has more than one million unique users on its platform since its launch
and has been witnessing online wallets emerge as preferred mode of payments with
the ethos of going cashless gaining steam in India.

"We are excited to partner with FreeCharge towards this as they are leaders in the
online wallet space having built a strong product and trust over the last few years,"
said co-founder UrbanClap, Varun Khaitan.
