SUBJECT : AAR RE JAIL OFFICER 1 TRAINEES ACTIVITIES FROM
DECEMBER 17-23, 2022

1. REFERENCE: Memorandum from JSINSP NIVEA JORE-LANGKIT,
Chief, Human Resource Development Division (HRDD), with a subject: Specific
Guidelines of JO1 Trainees Duties in Regional Offices and Jail Facilities dated
September 23, 2022.
2. MISSION/PURPOSE: The objective of this activity is to instill
discipline, knowledge and skills and familiarization with the regular and basic
operations and jail functions as part of the preparations prior to the scheduled jump-
off.
3. PLACE COVERED: Pagadian City Jail Male Dormitory, Purok Bliss,
Barangay Lenienza, Pagadian City.
4. DATE COVERED: December 17 to 23, 2022.
5. PARTICIPANTS: JO1/T Roger Apduhan Jr and JO1/T Al Vincent
Cariotes.
6. NARRATIVE:
a. On or about 8:00 AM on December 17, 2022, two (2) Jail
Officer 1 Trainees reported at Pagadian City Jail Male
Dormitory and rendered their duties and responsibilities for
the Jail Immersion.

b. The purpose of this activity is to familiarize trainees with the
fundamental functions and provide an overview of the actual
performance of jail duties.
c. In order to provide a first-hand experience of being a Jail
Officer, we were assigned in the following duties and
responsibilities, to wit:
Gate Security Unit
Assists in ensuring that all personalities entering the
jail facility are properly identified, recorded and have
undergone security procedures;
Assists in the conduct of body search and inspection
on PDL’s visitors and personnel, including their
belongings, consistent with existing policies;
Assists in the inspection of all parcels, packages and
communication consistent with existing policies;
Assists in the inspection of vehicles passing through
the gates of the jail facility and those not compliant
on jail security requirements;
Assists in ensuring that security identifications are
applied to all visitors entering the jail facility;
CCTV and Radio Operator
Assists in monitoring of CCTV in observing of proper
entry and recording
Assists in checking the functionality of CCTV and
radios
Custodial Unit (Downpost)
Assists in implementing all security management
system relating to custodial activities such as, but not
limited to, static and dynamic security during tour of
duty
d. Lastly, in order to maintain our physical health and well-
being, performed BJMP dozen daily and participated in the
weekly physical program (Zumba) of the jail unit personnel.
e. The activity ended at 5:00 PM on December 23, 2022 with
no untoward incident recorded.
7. ISSUES/CONCERNS/RECOMMENDATIONS:
a. The undersigned highly recommends to conduct this kind of
kind of activities in order to instill discipline, knowledge and

skills in preparation to the scheduled jump-off and familiarize
the fundamental roles and duties of a Jail Officer.
