Unit Overview and Rationale

This unit focuses on learning the skills, strategies, and rules of a variety of manipulative games

(Gagaball, Handball, and Dodgeball), which consists of focusing on specific skills, such as

striking the ball towards specific targets, dodging the balls, and teamwork skills. Students will

be assessed based on their cooperation, fairplay, team work, and how they lead a healthy and

active life. The unit focuses on helping each other to create a positive environment for

everyone, while ensuring that students are being safe by following the safety standards or

expectations set by the teacher, while working towards leading an active and healthy life.
