    a. Identifies the appropriate tools and equipment in plant propagation and
       their uses. (TLE6AG-0d-5)
    b. Demonstrate how to use the different tools and equipment in plant propagation.
    c. Give value and importance on the tools and equipment used I n plant propagation.
II. CONTENT
       Propagating Trees and Fruit Trees
III. LEARNING RESOURCES
     A. References
        1. Teacher’s Guide pages
        2. Learner’s Material pages
        3. Textbook pages

     B. Other Learning Resources
Pruning shears, hoe, sprinkler, trowel, wheelbarrow, shovel, rake, hand fork,
bolo, crowbar, shovel, other tools, and equipment: like hose, sprayer, weighing
scale, piece of wood or bamboo
IV. PROCEDURE
    a. Review of the Previous Lesson
Ask the pupils to name the layout or design of the orchard shown using pictures.
   b. Establishing Purpose of the Lesson
Study the jumbled letters to form a word.
      1. OTLSO - it is a handheld device that aids in accomplishing a task
      2. QEPUIMNET - supplies or tools needed for a purpose
      3. PATIONPROGA - act or action of propagating
                          - to cause to continue or increase
Today’s lesson has something to do with the words you formed. We are
going to identify the tools and equipment used in plant propagation as well as
their uses. Can you name a tool or equipment and site its uses? How can plant
propagation be a source of income of the family?
   c. Presenting examples/instances of new lesson
Using picture of the different tools and equipment in plant propagation
asked the pupils to name it.
                  Trowel Hoe Rake Fork
                Axe Crowbar Shovel Water Sprinkler
   d. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills
Discuss to the pupils the uses of the different tools and equipment used in
      propagating plants.
      1. Hoe – a tool used in digging and lossening hard and dry soil. It has athin
blade across the end of a long handle.
      2. Rake – a long handled tool having a bar at one end with teeth in it. It is used
for smoothening the soil and gathering loose leaves, hay or straw.
      3. Trowel – a tool with a curved blade used for loosening ground and taking up
         small plants.
      4. Axe – a tool with a flat, sharp blade fastened to a handle used for cutting
trunk of trees and their branches.
      5. Crowbar – a straight, heavy iron bar pointed at one end about 4 feet in length,
used for digging holes for planting seedlings.
      6. Bolo – a tool with a wooden or metal handle from which a long blade is
attached. It is used for cutting all grasses and branches of trees.
      7. Shovel – a tool with a broad or scoop attached to a handle. It is used to dig,
         lift and throw loose matter.
      8. Fork – a tool resembling a table fork but much bigger in size. It is used in
digging and preparing the soil for the plants.
      9. Water sprinkler – a can with a spout to sprinkle water on the plants. Plants
should be watered everyday to make them grow healthier. Hose and pail can
also be used in watering plants.
   e. Developing mastery
Show a picture of tools used in plant propagation and have the pupils tell
      its uses.
   f. Finding practical applications of concepts and skills
Are you now ready to use these tools in propagating plants? Do think
your knowledge about the tools and equipment will help you? How will it help
      you?
   g. Making Generalizations and abstractions about the lesson
What are the different tools and equipment used in
propagating trees and fruit bearing trees?
         What are its uses?
V. Evaluating Learning
Directions: Name the tools used in propagating plants described by the given
              sentences.
_________1. A tool used in digging and loosening hard and dry soil.
