given activity and perform well.)
The class will be divided into four groups.
Each group will send two representatives to
play the game. The first representative will
say the words without any voice coming
from the mouth or any signs that consider
as cheating, while the other representative
will guess the correct words. Each group will
be given 1 minute to guess it. The group
with the highest points will be the winner.

Looking at this picture, what is your idea?
Nice answer, thank you!
Predictions is a statement about what will
happen or might happen in the future.
Making predictions will help the learners to
guess what will happen next in a story or a
text. Basically, there are four ways of
predicting that we have looked at: might,
likely to, will, going to.
We use might when we are not sure about
future events or actions (the least certain
and possible).
Example:
o I might buy a new phone if I have a high
salary.
o We might go out Friday night.
We use likely to when we think something
is possible to happen.
Example:
o It’s likely to rain tomorrow.
o Tickets are likely to be expensive.
We use will to make predictions about
future when we are certain that something
is going to happen. The speaker decided at
the moment without evidence.
Example:
o Next year, I will buy a new car.
o It will rain tomorrow.
We often use going to when our prediction
based on a present situation. Express future
plans decided before the moment speaking
and based on evidence. Student 1: I will be there
tomorrow.
Example:

o The government is going to raise fuel Student 2: I am going to London
taxes. next week because I already
o The bomb is going to explode. bought a ticket.
3. Abstraction Student 3: The war seemed likely
to disrupt the state.
Now, let’s try if you mastered the lesson
well. Student 4: I might see you
tomorrow.
Give me another examples by the use of
will, going to, likely to and might. We need to identify the types of
predictions in order to use it in

o Why do you think that we need to know
the four ways of predicting outcomes?

outcomes is a skill one must acquire for one

4. Application
To complete your wonderful learning, go
back to your group from the previous
activity. Each group will be given different
situations to make a prediction based on the
story of Romeo and Juliet. Afterwards, the
group will perform a tableau and will be
graded based on the given criteria.
1. What if Juliet did not kill herself?
2. Romeo finds Rosaline at the masquerade
party.
3. Montague and Capulet are good friends.
4. Romeo did not kill Tybalt.
