ABSTRACT

A tracer refers to a study which is primarily used by Higher Education Institution to trace
their graduates’ demographic profile and employment status. This tracer study was
conducted to trace the graduates from the Bachelor of Elementary Education program at
Gov. Alfonso D. Tan College from A.Y 2015- 2016 to A.Y. 2019-2020. A total of 151
graduates participated in the survey out of 167 graduates. This study was conducted at
Tangub City, where the graduates reside or work. However, for those graduates residing
or working outside Tangub City, the researchers conducted a survey online. This study
utilized the adopted monitoring tool from Alfonsos Alumni Association. The researchers
used a frequency table to analyze the data gathered. The results revealed that most of the
graduates were female, single and residence of Tangub City. Furthermore, most of the
respondents were Licensed Professional Teachers and earned a bachelor’s degree as their
highest educational attainment. A number of respondents were employed with regular
status in matched and mismatched profession. However, the graduates’ prevalent reasons
for unemployment is family concern and decided not to find a job while personal interest
is the prevalent reason of graduates’ mismatched profession. Additionally, a great
number of the graduates landed on their first job within less than a month. The graduates
find professional skills as the most useful skill to apply in their job. This concludes that
the Institute of Teacher Education provides quality and globally competent teachers and,
produces graduates that are employable and are ready for the field of work to compete in
the labor market.
