1 INTRODUCTION

1.1 User license, conditions of use and warranty

Software licence agreement

1. Attention Installation and subsequent use of the software by the User imply
acknowledgement and acceptance of the terms and conditions of this
Licence Agreement in respect of DIMSPORT S.R.L..
Before installing and using the Software, read and understand this Licence
Agreement.
2. Purpose This document defines the contents of the Licence granted by DIMSPORT
S.R.L. to the User of the Software in the possession of the User who has
legitimately acquired it.
3. Indivisibility The Software is licensed as a single unit, even if can be technically
separated into its individual components. Under no circumstances may the
individual components be extracted for separate use, unless this is expressly
permitted in this Licence or by applicable law.
4. Intellectual and industrial All rights concerning the Software and/or the database to which the User is
property rights granted access (including, by way of example but not limited to, any image,
logo, trademark, photograph, animation, video, audio, music, text, "applet"
and update) as well as the graphic layout of the Software itself are the
property of DIMSPORT S.R.L. and come under the protection of pertinent
Italian and international laws.
All documentation provided in analogue or digital form with the Software
(including but not limited to: user manuals, instruction guides and operating
manuals) is subject to copyright and may not be copied, photographed,
reproduced, translated or converted to electronic means, in whole or in part,
without the prior written permission of DIMSPORT S.R.L..
All rights to the commercial exploitation and use of the Software, to the Data
Base and whatsoever accompanies or completes it, not expressly granted to
the User herein, shall remain the exclusive property of the Licensor.
The use of the Software by the User shall in no way constitute in their favour
rights or claims of any kind concerning it.
The User shall ensure full cooperation, where needed, in order to ascertain
the ownership of the rights of DIMSPORT S.R.L., fulfilling any and all
appropriate requirements to ensure its utmost protection.

5. Software Licence The Software is consigned to the User as a non-exclusive Licence for Use
that can only be transferred within the limits defined below.
The User may use the Software in accordance with the purpose for which it
has been produced and sold, in compliance with the recommendations of
use and the technical specifications provided by the Licensor, to the extent
set forth in this Licence.
The software may be transferred by the User to another person only if
accompanied by this Licence Agreement and shall result in the loss, by the
transferor, of their right to use the software.
Consequently, each copy of the software in their possession must be
immediately removed from any media that is available to the transferor.
The transfer of the software by the User to third parties does not give to the
transferee any right of use of services associated with the legitimate use of
the software, such as access to the private web area and the technical
support provided by DIMSPORT S.R.L.. If the new licensee is interested in
benefitting from additional services, it must contact DIMSPORT S.R.L.
directly and sustain the corresponding costs of the services on offer.
In addition to the foregoing provisions, it is expressly forbidden for the
Licensee to copy, distribute, spread, communicate or make available, for
whatever reason, the software or copies thereof or otherwise allow their use
by third parties, as well as to disassemble, decompile, decode, perform
reverse engineering, alter all or part of the Software, add parts or integrate it
into other software, except to the extent expressly permitted under
applicable regulations.
6. Protection against copies The Software may contain copy protection technology to prevent
unauthorized copying of the Software.
It is illegal to make unauthorized copies of the Software, or circumvent the
copy protection technology contained in the Software or to copy, in whole or
in part, the contents of the database without the consent of the legitimate
holder.
The User declares to be aware of this fact and may not claim good faith in
their favour, in the event of violation of these Terms of Use.
If the User has to prepare a backup copy of the Software, this can be
requested from DIMSPORT S.R.L.after specifying the reasons.
Any backup copies will remain subject to the same limitations as the original
as referred to herein and may be used only and exclusively to recover the
original if it is lost or irreparably damaged.
INFRINGEMENT OF THE LICENCE CONDITIONS AS PER 3, 4, 5 AND 6
WILL RESULT IN IMMEDIATE TERMINATION OF THIS AGREEMENT
AND THE SUBSEQUENT FORFEITURE BY THE USER TO ANY RIGHT
TO USE THE SOFTWARE.
7. Conservation of effects If one or more parts of this agreement are inconsistent with applicable laws,
they shall be deemed void, invalid and/or otherwise ineffective. These
Licence conditions, however, will retain their effectiveness between the
parties with regards to the parts not invalidated.
8. Applicable Law, Resolution of This agreement is governed and regulated by Italian law.
Disputes and Place of For all matters not expressly provided herein, the provisions of Italian law
Jurisdiction shall apply.
Any and all disputes arising from the interpretation, execution and validity of
the general terms and conditions of this agreement come under the
jurisdiction of – unless otherwise provided for by mandatory law – the Court
of the place of residence or domicile of the User, should the latter be
considered as a "consumer" pursuant to current law, otherwise exclusively
through the Court of Vercelli, Italy.

9. Communication The Licensor DIMSPORT S.R.L. has head offices in Località San Iorio 8/B,
15020 Serralunga di Crea – Italy.
Any communication or complaints should be sent to that address, or by fax
to +39 0142940094 or by e-mail to info@dimsport.it.
Communications and complaints sent to other addresses will not be taken
into account for the purposes of this Licence agreement.
10. Language These general Licence terms and conditions are drafted in Italian and
translated into English, French; Spanish, German and Portuguese.
In the event of any discrepancy between the different texts or doubts about
their interpretation, the Italian text will take precedence.
The Licensee declares having read and understood this Disclaimer in all its parts and agrees to be bound by the
terms and conditions set forth herein.
The Licensee also recognizes that this Disclaimer is a complete and exclusive agreement with the Licensor and
that it supersedes any prior oral or written agreement, any proposal and/or previous communication on the subject
matter of this agreement.

Terms of use and warranty

Please read the following carefully before starting to use the tools and programs provided by DIMSPORT S.R.L.
The use shall involve the full comprehension and acceptance of this statement.
 
DIMSPORT S.R.L. supplies several kits comprising PC software (RaceEvo, FlashPoint, DSManager, MyGenius
Client, Trasdata, Rapid Bike Master,Rapid TPM) and tools (NewGenius, MyGenius, Trasdata, NewTrasdata, Rapid
Bike, Rapid) exclusively for race circuit competition purposes.
These tuning kits allow the user to manipulate and alter the engine working parameters. Consequently, the use of
these products could make the vehicle not conformed to the official requirements established in your Country for
what concerns speed, power level, emission levels. Moreover, it could imply higher or different levels of
deterioration of mechanical and electric parts of the vehicle. The use of these products could also determine the
decadence of the official warranty supplied by the manufacturer/dealer.
The above mentioned kits supplied by DIMSPORT S.R.L. must be used only after carefully reading the instructions
and the technical documentation provided, and only in accordance with what is indicated and suggested therein.
The products provided may allow the user to alter vehicle performance; consequently, the vehicle itself may react
differently compared to the standard condition as indicated by the manufacturer.
Maximum caution is therefore required when driving the vehicle after the intervention.
 
The software and tools provided are designed and manufactured exclusively for sport applications in race circuits.
Under no circumstances should the products be used to infringe or circumvent any national laws in the country of
use, on pain of immediate termination of the license agreement.
The user, on acceptance of this license agreement, agrees and declares that any operation performed using the
tools and software produced/supplied by DIMSPORT S.R.L. will be carried out on race circuits for competition
purposes only, under his own exclusive responsibility.
 
Except for any specific warranty, conditions or imperative declarations that cannot be excluded or limited by
applicable law in the jurisdiction of the user, the Software/Firmware is supplied by DIMSPORT S.R.L. on an ""AS
IS"" basis, defects included. Consequently, it excludes whatever warranty, condition or declaration of any kind
expressed, included or envisaged by law, common law or custom including but not limited to the warranties of
integration, merchantability, peaceful enjoyment and satisfactory quality, i.e. fitness for purpose.
 
DIMSPORT S.R.L. shall in no event be liable as regards the User for any loss, damage, claim, or cost, including
any indirect or incidental consequential damages, lost profits or lost revenues, damages resulting from business
interruption, personal injury or breach of due diligence, or claims of third parties, even if a DIMSPORT S.R.L.
representative has been advised of the possibility of such loss, damage, claim or cost.
The foregoing limitations and exclusions shall apply to the fullest extent permitted by law in the user's
jurisdiction.
The overall liability of DIMSPORT S.R.L. under or in connection with this Agreement shall also be limited in
the event of a material or substantial infringement of this Agreement or an infringement of material or
substantial terms thereof.

1.2 Glossary - Terminology used

.dim File extension with complete (all memories) ECU read.

Perform read operations using the New TRASDATA device.
Files with the ".dim" extension are compressed and encoded.
Only the Race EVO program and the device-specific program New
TRASDATA can perform the listed operations.
· Decryption of files with the ".dim" extension
· Export individual memory files contained in files with the ".dim" extension
For more information, refer to the s operating manual for the New
TRASDATA device.
.dtf File extension with the engine management maps of an ECU.
The ".dtf" file may be the microprocessor file, the external flash memory file
or a combination of the two.
The ".dtf" file may never correspond to the Serial Eprom memory file.
As regards management of this type of file, the following is possible:
· Export the ".dtf" file from the ".dim" file via the Race EVO program or via
the device-specific New TRASDATA program
· Manage the ".dtf" file using the Drag&Drop function with a ".dim" file in
the Race EVO program
For more information, refer to the s operating manual for the New
TRASDATA device.
.mod By convention, the extension used for modified files.

.ori By convention, original file extension at 100%.

All files associated with the Setting Files downloaded from the online
database have the extension ".ori".
.rpi Extension of Project files (Race Project Image).

ASCII Acronym for American Standard Code for Information Interchange.

The ASCII table is a conventional code used to represent text characters in
bytes.
Checksum Code used to check the correctness of the ECU data.

Credits Virtual currency used to purchase Setting Files and Option functions.

ECU Acronym for Engine Control Unit, the electronic engine management unit.

EPROM Acronym for Electrically Programmable Read Only Memory.

This is the type of non-volatile memory used to store the management
program in engine management units.

Setting Files Files that can be used to modify the information contained in the ECUs.
RACE Technical Support creates Setting Files by processing the listed file
types.
· Original files from read operations using New GENIUS or New
TRASDATA devices
· Original files directly from the vehicle manufacturer
The following types of Setting File are available:
· STANDARD file: can be used on all Race EVO program versions
· BASIC file: can only be used on PLUS and FULL versions of the Race
EVO programme
Downloading Setting Files is based on credit management.
FLASH_xxxx Nomenclature used to identify New GENIUS device communication
protocols.
Each protocol is identified by the abbreviation 'FLASH_' followed by a
number (e.g. FLASH_0145).
MU Acronym for User Maps, the customised maps created directly by the user.

New GENIUS A serial communication device (identification, read, write) with the engine
control unit via the OBDII socket or specific diagnostic connectors.
An internet connection is not required to operate the device.
File management is performed through the Race EVO program.
New TRASDATA Workbench-top device for reading and programming the entire contents of
ECUs.
File management is performed through the Race EVO program.

Plugin_xxxx Nomenclature used to identify New TRASDATA device communication
protocols.
Each New TRASDATA Plug-in is identified by the abbreviation "PLUGIN".

2 INSTALLING AND UPDATING THE PROGRAM

2.1 Minimum system requirements

· Quad Core Processor
· SO 32/64 bit with at least 4 GB RAM
· Minimum screen resolution 1366x768

· 22 GB of free space on the hard disk
· Fast ADSL Internet connection

2.2 Software installation

1. Insert the installation CD into the CD/DVD drive of your computer.
2. Follow the guided procedure and click "Next" when prompted.

NOTICE
The default installation folder for the program is 'C:\Race2000'.

3. Enter company data and customer code when

prompted.
The customer code is indicated on the USB stick (e.g.
C1234).

 ATTENTION

The customer code MUST be entered in order to complete the installation and start the program.
If an incorrect entry is made, contact RACE Technical Support.

On completing installation, it may be necessary to reboot the system.

4. Reboot the system when prompted.
5. Insert the USB stick correctly into the PC’s connection port.
Correct insertion of the USB stick is indicated when its red LED comes ON.

 ATTENTION

Insert the USB stick only after installation is complete and only after the system has been rebooted (if
required).

6. Wait for the device to be recognised and the drivers to be installed.

When starting the programme, you will be asked to perform an automatic update.
Follow the guided procedure and confirm when prompted.
The next time you restart the program, you will be asked to update the vehicle database.

NOTICE
To carry out updates, the following is required::
· A fast and stable Internet connection
· Absence of blocks (antivirus, firewall, etc.) for connections to FTP servers

2.3 Software update

When starting the program, a message may appear on the display indicating the availability of new updates.
Follow the guided procedure and confirm when prompted.
To check for updates or update later, see 4.7 - “Update" menu.

2.4 Conventions and shortcut commands

2.4.1 Mouse button conventions

· Left button: selection and activation of a function/command
· Right button: display contextual menus

2.4.2 Keyboard shortcuts

To activate commands/functions normally accessible from menus more quickly, keyboard shortcuts can be used.
The combinations are listed by workspace.

Quick commands enabled in the main menu

· F1: opens the software information window.
· F11: opens the search filter for Settings files.
· Ctrl+F11: opens the search filter for all images in the database.
· Ctrl+s: opens the "Separate memories" function for a file read with the New TRASDATA device.

Quick Commands enabled within a Settings File (main screen)

· Shift+F12: updates the Checksum of the image on RAM 2.
· Ctrl+F4: closes the Setting File window.

Quick commands enabled within a map

· ESC: toggles the display between RAM 1 and RAM 2.
· F2: saves the changes on all maps in the file.
· F4: displays the 3D graph of the map.
· F5: saves changes to the working map (and any related ones) in RAM 2 without closing the window.
· F7: shows the status of the maps in the main menu of the Settings File.
· F9: inserts a fixed value.
· F10: opens the "Floor Sum" editing function window.
· Pag↑ /Pag↓: display the values of the previous/next related map.
· Ctrl+c/Ctrl+v: copy/paste the values or differences (absolute/percentage) of a map.
· Ctrl+a: applies an absolute modification value

· +/-: increases/decreases the editing values (absolute, percentage) selected in the corresponding text boxes.

Setting files make it easy to modify the information contained in the ECUs.
RACE Technical Support creates Setting Files by processing the listed file types.

Downloading Setting Files is based on credit management.

NOTICE
Credits for downloading a Settings File are charged only once.
Downloading an already downloaded Settings File does not incur a new credit charge.
If the Settings File with the calibration numbers of the reference file read/identified is not available:
· Send the file/identification to RACE Technical Support.
· Wait for the creation of the new Setting File.
· Download the newly created Settings File free of charge.

Each New TRASDATA Plug-in is identified by the abbreviation "PLUGIN".

· Connection mode (1): indicates the specific microprocessor connection mode .
· Connection mode (2): indicates the mode used to perform File Identification/Read/Write operations.
o BENCH MODE: it is possible to use ECU connectors to carry out Identification/Read/Write operations.

4.13 Importing and joining a file

The program uses two memory banks to load and compare two files.
· RAM 1: fixed memory that cannot be modified.
This type of RAM allows the positions of maps in the file to be compared.
· RAM 2: memory where the file to be edited must be loaded.
This type of RAM allows the maps in the file to be modified.
 
It is possible to import/join files read with New GENIUS or New TRASDATA devices.
· To import and join a read file with the New GENIUS , see 4.13.1 - Importing and joining a New Genius file.
· To import and join a read file with the New TRASDATA , see 4.13.2 - Importing and joining a New Trasdata file.
· To import a file read with the New GENIUS or New TRASDATA device via the Settings File selection window,
see 4.13.3 - Importing a NewGenius or NewTrasdata file by selecting the Settings File.

4.13.1 Importing and joining a New Genius file

Proceed as indicated.
1. Connect the New GENIUS device to the USB connection port of your computer.
2. Import the file from the device memory using one of the listed methods.

To join an ID file read by the New GENIUS device, use one of the modes listed in relation to the type of function
supported.

1. Download the Settings File from the database.
2. Load the certified ".ori" format file into RAM 1 and RAM 2.
3. Edit the file and program the vehicle with the New GENIUS device.
 
Settings file NOT available in database and file read from supported ECU
1. Open the ECU.
2. Read the ".dim" file from the ECU using the New TRASDATA device.
3. Send the file to RACE Technical Support to create the Settings File.
4. Download the new Settings File.
5. .Make the required change and program the vehicle via the OBDII system.
Use the ".ori" file of the Settings File or the ".dtf" file (Tuning File) extracted from the complete ".dim" file.

NOTICE
In some vehicles, before opening the ECU, the ID file can be sent to RACE Technical Support.
RACE Technical Support uses this file to check whether the corresponding original file exists in order to create a
new Settings File.

4.14 Checksum validation

In some ECUs, the Checksum must be validated in order to complete the link for the following file types.
· File linked directly from the device New GENIUS
· Binary file in the Settings File
 
Use one of the methods listed depending on the type of
file.
· Use the same file
Use this option when importing an original file.
 
· Select file
Use this option when importing a file that has already
been edited.

Click on and select the original file to be used

for Checksum validation.

NOTICE
If no original file is available, export the original file in
the Settings File from the program.

4.15 Updating Settings Files

To download and/or update a Settings File, use one of the listed methods.
· Direct update of a Settings File already downloaded to the local database (see 4.15.1 - Direct update of an
already downloaded Settings File in the local database)
· Update of a Settings File reported as 'out of date' during the search stage (see 4.15.2 - Updating and/or
downloading a Settings File during search and selection)
· Update of a Setting File reported as not in the local database when importing a file read with the 4.15.3 -
Updating a Settings File when importing a NewTrasdata or NewGenius file device or the New TRASDATA
device (see New GENIUS)

4.15.1 Direct update of an already downloaded Settings File in the local database
Proceed as indicated.
1. Expand the "Update" menu.
2. Click on "Setting files to be updated".
A window with a list of already downloaded Settings Files for which updated versions are available appears on
the display
3. Select the file of interest.
4. Click on the corresponding "Update" button.

Only one file can be updated at a time.

It is possible to update and/or download a Settings File during the search and selection stage.

Specific information is available for each file found, such as:
· Warning if the file has already been downloaded to the local database
· Indication whether the downloaded version is up to date
 
Proceed as indicated.
1. Select the file of interest.
2. Click on "Download settings file.

NOTICE
The functions of this button change in relation to file status (update/download).
One of the listed functions may appear on the button.
· Update settings file: the file has already been downloaded to the local database.
Press the button to update the file.
· Download setting files: the file has not been downloaded to the local database.
Press the button to download the file.

4.15.3 Updating a Settings File when importing a NewTrasdata or NewGenius file

When importing a file (read with device New TRASDATA or device New GENIUS), a message may appear
indicating that the Settings File is not in the local database.
You can update the local database and download the Settings File.
Use one of the methods listed.
Methods (A)
1. Click on "Yes" to start updating the database
definitions.
The update stage may take a few minutes.
Once the update is complete, you can download the
Settings File directly from the program.
 
Methods (B)
1. Click on "No" to cancel the operation.
2. Download the Settings File directly from the Reserved
Area.

4.16 Request creation of Settings File

When importing a file (read with device New TRASDATA or device New GENIUS), a message may appear
indicating that the Settings File is not present in any database (local or online).
You can send a request to RACE Technical Support asking for the relevant Settings File to be created.
Proceed as indicated.
1. Click on "Send file to support".

The window with the form for sending the request

appears on the display.
2. Fill in the fields and click on "OK".

NOTICE
Fields marked with (*) and the contact e-mail are
mandatory.

NOTICE
Indicate in the "Notes" field whether you want the
Options to be included in the Settings File.

RACE Technical Support will send an e-mail with

information for downloading the new Settings File.

4.17 Downloading Setting files from the online database

Proceed as indicated.
1. Access the Reserved Area.
For more information, see 3.5.1 - Access to the
reserved area.
2. Click on "DOWNLOAD".
The search screen appears on the display.
3. Set the search parameters.
4. Click on 'Search'.

5. A window with a summary of the files available

appears on the display.
6. Select the type of file.
7. Click on "Add to cart".

NOTICE
The type of file that can be downloaded depends on
the program version.
· STANDARD version: only STANDARD files can
be downloaded.
· PLUS version or FULL version: you can
download STANDARD or BASIC files.
If you download the BASIC type first and then the
STANDARD type of the same file, you will only be
charged for the difference in credits.

4.18.1 File uploading and opening screen

A. File display area: displays the list of available files.

o Certified ".ori" file in the Settings File
o ".dim" file imported by the user
Specific information (Description, Type, etc.) is provided for each file listed.
B. Load RAM1: load the file into RAM 1.

NOTICE
It is not possible to modify the file loaded in RAM 1.

C. Load RAM2: load the file into RAM 2.

NOTICE
The file loaded in RAM 2 can be edited.

D. Load 1 and 2: o load the file into both RAMs (RAM 1 and RAM 2).
Once the files have been loaded into RAM 1 and RAM 2, the display shows the list of Maps/Patches/Options.

E. Modify: change the description and information of the selected file in the list.
F. Delete: delete a file from the list.

NOTICE
Only files imported by the user can be deleted.

G. Load files from disc: add a file saved on disc to the list.
H. Save File on disc: save the file selected in the list to disc.
I. Support: send the selected file to RACE Technical Support.
J. NewGenius: drop-down menu for importing and/or exporting files from the New GENIUS device.
K. NewGenius File Header: display information about the file read with the New GENIUS device selected in the

F. Difference: display the difference in absolute value on the map.

The command is only enabled if no conversion formulas have been applied (icon (H) is disenabled).

H. f(x): enable/disenble the conversion formula.

I. Units of measurement: drop-down menu to select the unit of measurement to be used with the map.
J. Increase/decrease value: set the increase/decrease value to be applied to the selected cell(s).
The program adds or subtracts the value when one of the commands (M) or one of the "+" / "-" keys on the
keyboard is activated.
K. Absolute Value: apply the value set in the field (J) as an 'absolute value'.

NOTICE
Alternatively, use the shortcut command "Ctrl+a".

L. Percentage value: apply the value set in the field (J) as a 'percentage value'.

NOTICE
Alternatively, use the shortcut command "Ctrl+p".

M. + / -" icons : add/subtract the value set in the field (J) to the selected cell.
N. Fixed value: assign a fixed value to the selected cell(s).

selection of cells (at least two cells) or in a square or

The zoom is recalculated in relation to map values.
V. Map colours: enable/disenable the map colouring.

You can set map colours as always active by default.

W. Search field: search for a value within the active map.

o Click on to display the cell containing the value.

o Continue clicking on to display, in sequence, all the cells containing the value.

X. Invert axes: invert the positioning of the X and Y axes on the map.
The program applies the change to the displayed map and all related maps.

NOTICE
When the map is closed, the axes return to the correct position.

Y. X-axis unit of measurement: drop-down menu to select the unit of measurement to be displayed on the X
axis.
Z. Y-axis unit of measurement: drop-down menu to select the unit of measurement to be displayed on the Y
axis.

Only configured units of measurement can be selected.

4.20.2 Table and graphs

The map table comprises a variable number of rows (Y-axis) and columns (X-axis).
Different types of map are envisaged:
· 3D Map: the X and Y axes of the table are larger than 1.
· 2D Map: one of the table axes (X-axis or Y-axis) has a dimension equal to 1.
· Single value map: the X and Y axes of the table have the same dimensions as 1.

Three-dimensional map
The figure shows an example of a map with dimensions X = 10 and Y = 16.

This type of map allows you to:

· Use all editing functions
· Display 2D and 3D graphs
 
This type of map is characterised by two editable two-dimensional axes.
· Click and drag one of the value separation points to change the axis.
· Press the shortcut command "Ctrl+m" to invert the position of the 2D graphs.

· Select a zone, press the right mouse button and drag the cursor to change the axis.

4.21 Editing maps

4.21.1 Selecting and editing cells

The listed operations can be performed.
· Edit cell contents
· Linear selection of a range of cells
· Square or rectangular selection of a range of cells
· Multiple selection of a series of cells, including non-consecutive cells
· Selection of the entire table

NOTICE
Only the values of files loaded in RAM 2 can be modified.
 

· Click on to change the display of the value table (from RAM 1 to RAM 2 and vice versa).
Alternatively, use the shortcut command "Esc".

Editing the contents of a cell

Use the commands on the toolbar.

NOTICE
Modified cells turn yellow.

When exporting a file from the RAM loading screen, the
encryption selection window appears on the display.
A. Unencrypted: the file is not encrypted.
B. Encryption KEY: the type of encryption to be applied
to the file can be selected.
C. Final size: drop-down menu to select the file save
size.
D. Support: you can send the file to RACE Technical
Support.
 
To apply encryption, proceed as follows.
1. Click on "Encrypt KEY".
2. Click on "OK".

This function is useful with older generation ECUs, where engine management maps are contained in two Eprom
memories of 8 bits.
· Memory for the bytes of the upper part of the word (HHH)
· Memory for the bytes of the lower part of the word (LLL)
 
This function is used to:
· Create a single 5.3.1 - Combine two 8-bit files into a 16 bit file (Merge) bit file from the 16 bit files of the two
Eprom memories (see 8)
· Split a 5.3.2 - Splitting a 16-bit file into two 8-bit files (Split) bit file into two separate files of 16 bits (see 8)

A custom marker file can be loaded from disc for the file in which it was created.
Loading the marker in a different file may lead to problems for matching address values.

A. Search for the first cell with these values: search only the first cell containing the value of interest.
Enabling the command enables the "Advanced" zone.
The "Advanced" zone area is used to select how the search is to be carried out.
B. Search for all cells with these values: search for all cells containing the value of interest.
Activating this command enables the drop-down menu (B1) for selecting markers.
Use the drop-down menu (B1) to select the colour marker to highlight the cells containing the value of interest.
The search results appear in the area (B2) underneath the drop-down menu.

5.6.4.4 Importing a custom marker

A custom marker file can be loaded from disc for the file in which it was created.
Loading the marker in a different file may lead to problems for matching address values.
Marker files have the extension ".mrk".
1. Expand the "File" menu.
2. Click on "Load Marker".

5.6.5 Setting a value set

Proceed as indicated.
1. Click on one of the icons (A) to set the value set of
interest.

2. If necessary, click on icon (B) or icon (C) to activate

the function of interest.
 
· Self-adaptation (B): activate the fixed automatic
setting of the most suitable value set for correct
display.
When this function is activated, each time you select
one of the maps in the Settings File list, the program
automatically sets the most suitable value set.
Once activated, the function always remains active
(when closing the 2D graph as well as when closing
the Settings File).
Deactivate the function by clicking again on the icon
(B).
· Instant adaptation (C): activate the temporary
automatic setting of the most suitable value set for
correct display.
You can manually activate the function each time you
select one of the maps in the Settings File list.

In the 2D graphic work area, the editing commands on the toolbar are always enabled.
The only command disabled is the "Floor Sum" icon.
Disabling the command is linked to the conditions listed.
· The two RAMs (RAM 1 and RAM 2) always appear at the same time.
· RAM 2 is always available.
· Any function/modification is applied directly to RAM 2.

It is not necessary to click on or press the shortcut command "Esc" to move between RAMs.

Use this function to realign maps and zones in two rows automatically.
The map/zone realignment function is enabled in the "Eprom 2D graph" workspace.
A. Tolerance +/-: drop-down menu to select the
tolerance percentage to be applied when searching
for values.
B. Map alignment: automatically align the RAM 2 graph
map with the RAM 1 graph map address.
C. Zone alignment: automatically align the graph zone

tolerance percentage to be applied when searching
for values.

6. Click to realign the map of RAM 2 to the map address of RAM 1.

If a zone is selected, click on to realign the zone in the graph in RAM 2 to the address of the zone with the
graph in RAM 1.

Zones in the file that meet the set requirements are highlighted in red.

7 USER MAPS

7.1 Introduction
The PLUS and FULL versions of Race EVO allow customised User Maps (MU) to be created.
A user map can be created from a STANDARD or BASIC Settings File.
For more information about the map editor, see 7.3 - Map creation editor.

NOTICE
It is not possible to create objects with the same functionality as Patch and Options functions.

 ATTENTION

In the PLUS version, creating a user map is only possible with STANDARD Settings Files.

7.2 Registries management

The "Show" menu provides access to a series of
registries which can be used to create User Maps.
A. Map registry: display the window for entering and
managing the maps used to create User Maps.

G. Enable edit increment: enable manual input of the increment/decrement value to be applied when editing.
The program adds or removes the value on pressing one of the "+" / "-" keys on the keyboard.
o When this option is activated, it is possible to enter the value of interest manually in the field below to be
added or subtracted when editing.
o When this option is deactivated, the field below displays the value "1" by default.

The value can also be modified in a map via the toolbar.

The map editor can be opened in Hex Code/Text as well as in the 2D Eprom graph.
To open the map editor, use one of the methods listed.
· Use the shortcut command "Ctrl+u".
· Expand the "Show" menu and click on "Create user map".
· Press the right mouse button and click on "Create user map".
 
The property setting window appears on the display.

A. Map category: drop-down menu to select a specific
set of maps already in the master file.
To add a new set, see 7.2 - Registries management.
B. Map code: drop-down menu to select a map code.

NOTICE
The map codes available depend on the type of
selection made in the drop-down menu (A).
· Selection of a specific group: the drop-down
menu (A) displays only the map codes belonging to
the selected group.
· Selecting the “All” option: the drop-down menu
(A) displays all available map codes.

C. Related no: displays the position of the map within a

series with several related maps.
D. Category: drop-down menu to select a group already
present in the master file.
If a specific group is selected via the drop-down menu
(A), the drop-down menu (D) will automatically
propose the same group again.
E. Description: enter the map description.
F. Start address: define the map’s start address.
The start address is determined by the position of the
pointer on the 2D graph.
If the address is wrong, use one of the listed
methods.
o Place the cursor on the point of interest in the
graph and click on "from Eprom".
The program detects the address and
automatically enters it in the field (F).
o Manually enter the address of interest in the field
(F).

The address used is only that of RAM 2.

G. Odd number alignment: drop-down menu to select

the byte to be used (-H or -L) to start the map.

NOTICE
Use this option when creating a map with 8 bit values
but 16 bit addresses.

H. 7F & AND 7F: standardise the values of a map.

The “7F” 2 “AND 7F” functions reposition the graphic
zero point according to the value set in the field (M).
This also allows negative values to be obtained.

NOTICE
If a function has already been enabled in the 2D
graph, it is automatically enabled in this tab as well.

I. Rows x Columns: enter the size of the map axes (number of rows by number of columns).
J. Value: drop-down menu to manually select the set of map display values.

NOTICE
The set of map values is automatically detected by the 2D graph settings.

K. Cell formula: drop-down menu to select the conversion formula to be applied to the values in the map table.

Alternatively, click on to display the list with all formulas and apply search filters.

M. Standardized values: set the value of the new graphic zero point.

NOTICE
Set the new graphic zero point when the "7F" and "AND 7F" functions are activated.
The “7F” 2 “AND 7F” functions reposition the graphic zero point according to the value set in the field (M).

N. Line Offset: set the line offset value.

If there are bytes at the beginning of a line that do not belong to the line, the program skips a number of bytes

The programme allows you to duplicate maps DIMSPORT in the Settings File as well as User Maps.
Duplication is useful for correcting configuration errors without having to wait for RACE Technical Support.

If there are configuration errors in a map DIMSPORT, send a report in any case to RACE Technical
Support.

Proceed as indicated.
1. Display the map list screen.
2. Select the map of interest.
3. Press the right mouse button to display the quick menu.

Settings Files containing User Maps are marked with the symbol or the tag (UT).
This makes it possible to:
· Immediately identify in the selection phase those Settings Files that contain User Maps (see example).

7.10 Deleting a Settings File with User Maps

Proceed as indicated.
1. Select the Settings File with User Maps of interest.
2. Click on "Delete".
The confirmation window appears on the display.
3. Click on "Yes" to delete the Settings File with the User Maps from the database.

 ATTENTION

This operation is irreversible.

The deleted file cannot be restored.

8 PROJECT CREATION AND MANAGEMENT

8.1 Introduction
The FULL version of the Race EVO program allows you to create and manage a Project.
You can create User Maps and save them in a Project as if it were a Settings File provided by DIMSPORT.

8.2 Opening files and creating a Project

Proceed as indicated.
1. Open the file in the "Image analysis" workspace.
For more information, see 5.7 - Image Analysis .

 ATTENTION

If a file without a header is imported, the checksum verification window appears on the display.
Click on "Yes" to start Checksum verification.

2. Create customised User Maps.

For more information, see 7 - USER MAPS.
3. Expand the "File" menu.
4. Click on "Save Project as".

A window appears on the display to link the Project

with a specific Make, Model and Type.
5. Use one of the listed methods.
o Click "Yes" to confirm and link the Project with a
specific Make, Model and Type.
o Click "No" to cancel the operation and save the
Project in the "Analysis" workspace.

However, it is still possible to cancel the link and save the Project in the "Analysis" environment.

6. Select the vehicle of interest.

If there is no entry of interest in the list, click on 'New' to create a new classification.

8.4 Exporting and importing a Project

The program allows you to export and import the projects you have created so that they are always available.

 ATTENTION

It is not possible to import projects created under a different customer code.

8.4.1 Exporting a Project

Proceed as indicated.
1. Expand the "File" menu.
2. Click on "Project Management".
The selection window appears on the display.
3. Select the vehicle of interest.
4. Click on 'Next'.
The screen with the projects available appears on the display.
5. Select the project of interest.
6. Click on 'Export'.
The confirmation window appears on the display.
7. Click on "Yes" to confirm.

The display shows the User Maps in the project.

This screen is used to adapt or add to the database the descriptions and formulas used to create User Maps.
5. Adapt and/or add descriptions and formulas of interest to the database.

o Zone (A): displays information about the User Map in the project.
The "Apply ->" buttons are only enabled if the formulas and/or descriptions have been created by the user.
When the button is clicked, the corresponding formula and/or description is automatically added to the
database.
o Zone (B): allows map information to be adapted to the database.
You can create a new description/formula or select one that already in the database.
o Apply all(C): add all descriptions/formulas to the database simultaneously.
o Zone (D): displays the User Map number and the total number of maps in the project.
Click on "←" or "→" to switch between screens.
