Section 1:

First of all, let me tell you about the rules of volleyball. A volleyball game is
composed of two teams. Each of the teams has six players each which are separated by a net.
The objective of this sport is to score points by sending the ball over the net. The ball must
hit or touch into the opponent’s court. The first team to win two sets is the winner of the
match.
Next, let’s talk about volleyball skills. For those who are interested and willing to learn
the sport, an individual should be ready to go through some foundational skills for better
results. A good serve can win points for the team and go on to secure a victory over the
opposing team. Every player in a volleyball team should learn the act of setting. In cases
where the designated person is unavailable, anyone can coordinate the game’s flow.
Furthermore, a good block must be done correctly, with excellent coordination and direction.
Blocks are based on chance. Beginners should start by fending off balls very close to the net
and working on their jumps, footwork, and timing.
In volleyball, strategy is key to success. Knowing which serves or shots to use can also
help you gain an advantage over your opponents. For example, if your team is playing
against a weaker opponent, then using strong serves or aggressive shots can be effective at
taking control of the game. Similarly, when playing against a stronger team, using weaker
serves and less aggressive shots can be beneficial as it gives you more time to read the other
team’s strategies and react accordingly.
There are a number of different types of volleyball. Indoor is played inside, beach
volleyball is played on sand, and international volleyball is highly competitive, wallyball is
played where you can hit the ball off the walls, bossaball incorporates gymnastics, soccer
and volleyball and jokgu is played mostly with the feet instead of the hands.
Finally, volleyball is a type of sport that requires communication in order for teams to
work together to win the match. Good communication also contributes to increase team
morale and helps prevent unnecessary injuries. Communication makes the players aware of
their responsibilities and coordinate their movements on the court.
In conclusion, to be a successful volleyball player, you need to know the basic rules of
the sport, acquire all the necessary volleyball skills, learn effective strategies, and
communicate effectively with your teammates.
Section 2:
1. My Overall Goal: My overall goal is to be an effective and efficient blocker.
By setting a specific goal, I can focus my efforts on a particular skill and measure and
my progress effectively. This goal aligns with the SMART (Specific, Measurable,
Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) principle, making it clear and attainable.

2. Objectives: To support my overall goal, I have identified a specific goal. As a blocker,

I should always practice standing with arms up. My palms should face the net. If I take
such a position in advance then I'll be able to react to an attack quickly, make an
explosive action, jump up in the air and block an opposing team's attack successfully.

3. Steps to achieve objectives: I have outlined several steps I can take to achieve each
objective. To improve my blocking, I will start by building my core. Blocking is about
jumping, but it is also about the core strength. This will help me continue to block
consistently with the amount of needed strength to force the ball back onto the other
side of the court. A perfect drill for this is an ab exercise that involves sitting on a mat
while having a plate in my hands. Then take my feet off the ground and start doing a
side-to-side twist, with the plate touching the ground. Then again, push the plate above
my head to give power to my shoulder. Focusing on the shoulders will help enhance
my blocking skills.

4. Timeline: I have established a timeline for completing each objective. I will practice
blocking techniques with my teammates thrice a week, at least an hour a day.

5. Monitoring Progress and adjustments: To monitor my progress, I will seek

feedback from my coach and teammates to gain insights into my performance. If
necessary, I will make adjustments to my plan based on feedback and identify areas
that require more attention or practice.
Section 4:

1. My teammate and I worked together to score back-to-back points against the other team. I
let the setter know where I was or where he needed to set the ball. I let him know that I was
ready to hit the ball when I yelled at him L-O-U-D-L-Y! What he couldn’t rely on visually
he could rely on with audio. So, I had to be loud and I had let him know I wanted the ball.

2. To improve my performance in volleyball, I’d focus on my communication skills. I will

not be shy to express my feelings or opinions if it’s for the good of the team. I will also be a
good listener and a good sport if ever I hear some negative feedbacks from my coach and
teammates.

3. I created a plan to improve my blocking by constant practice, eating healthy foods that
will give me enough strength and energy to jump higher and block efficiently. I also write
down my coach’s feedback and observation in a notebook that I always carry during our
practice sessions.

4. In a recent volleyball game, my strengths were my solid blocking strategy and my

ability to provide accurate sets to my teammates. I consistently allowed my teammates to
execute strong attacks. However, one area for improvement was my serving technique, as I
struggled to toss and control the ball effectively. Despite this weakness, I contributed to the
team's success by maintaining open communication, demonstrating teamwork, and
consistently delivering blockings.

5. The plan to improve my serving accuracy was effective overall. Regular practice sessions
and seeking guidance from my coach helped me refine my technique and increase my
blocking technique over time.

6.In the future, I plan to continue improving my volleyball skills by engaging in focused
practice sessions and seeking consistent feedback from my coach and teammates.
