UTP 641 Kb Standard: EN 1599: E CrMo1 B 4 2 H5
Basic-lime type stick electrode for joint AWS A 5.5: E 8018 – B2
welding and surfacing
Application field
UTP 641 Kb can used for high-quality welding-seams on vessel- and tube steels and similar steel qualities.
Operating temperature up to 570 °C. Furthermore for similar-alloyed tempering steels, non treated hardened
steels and nitride steels.
Welding properties
The weld metal can be quenched and tempered and consists of a good hardenability. For applications on
tempered steels the hardness depends on the dilution degree with the base metal. The electrode can be welded
in all positions except vertical-down. Dry storage. If necessary redry for approx. 2 h at 300 °C. Reco very 115%.

Heat treatment
Welding of boiler- and pipe usually at temperatures of 200 – 250°C. Annealing after welding for approx . ½ h at
680 – 700 ° C. Preheating of hardened, nitride and tool steels to 250 – 450°C.
