EPOXY PRIMER
DESCRIPTION:
Jensolin Epoxy Primer is a high build epoxy coating with excellent resistant capacity to protect surface from severe coastal and
industrial environments. It is resistant to both fresh water and salt water, non-oxidizing acids, alkalis, oil and various chemicals. It
is applied as a barrier coat among epoxy coating system for both steel and concrete surface.
KEY FEATURES:
Excellent abrasion resistant
Excellent resistance to fresh and salt water immersion
Easy of application-spray, brush, roller
Lead free
USES:
On all steel structures that are continually exposed to chemicals in fertilizer, cement, coal wash plant, ship loaders, offshore platforms,
refineries, petrochemicals, food and pharmaceutical units etc. Good barrier coat for concrete surface.

SURFACE PREPARATION:
Remove oil, grease and other contaminants. Blast clean to a minimum Sa2 1/2 Swedish Standard, SIS 05 5900 or second quality BSS
4232: 1967. For surface with severe corrosive conditions, blast to Sa3 or 1st quality. Surface profile should not exceed 100 microns.
Special care must be taken on welded areas to remove flux and spatter. Welds should be grounded back to avoid corrosive pockets.
The cleaned surface should be coated shortly after blast cleaning to avoid contamination.
CONDITION DURING APPLICATION:
1. Use the mixed paint within the stipulated pot life period.
2. Do not apply when temperature falls below 10°C or rises above 50°C and when relative humidity exceeds above
90%. Do not apply paint during rain, fog or mist or in heavily polluted air.
3. Adequate ventilation is required in confined areas to ensure proper drying of the paint. Coating should not be exposed to
oil, chemicals or mechanical stress until cured.
4. The first coat of paint should be applied within shortest possible delay i.e. a few hours after the surface preparation to prevent
the premature corrosion or contamination by impurities from the air (dust, salts, sulphur di oxide etc.).
5. Brushes and spray equipments should be cleaned with Thinner T-7; otherwise equipment is likely to be damaged/clogged.
APPLICATION METHODS:
Stir the base thoroughly and mix 2 parts of base and 1 part of catalyst by volume to uniform consistency. A dd thinner as per
requirement. Allow the mixture to mature (refer to ‘Induction T ime’ from the ‘PRODUCT DATA’) for 5 - 10 minutes and stir again
before and during application.
Brush: Good to brush on small area only
Roller: Thinned to by 5% volume maximum if required.
Conventional Spray: U se standard spray equipment and air pressure of 50 - 70 PSI
Airless Spray: Use tip size of 0.38 - 0.48 cm and tip pressure of 1800 - 2300 PSI
