How do you plan to implement this lesson and integrate the technology? Check all that apply:

dent and mostly practice based.

of learning and/or determine the tool they will use to meet the learning goal. The teacher facili-
tates the learning as the students direct their own learning processes.

and completing projects to demonstrate their learning. Additionally, the projects can be shared
outside of the classroom. (Note: This objective could be reached by displaying the project on the
school’s morning newscast, posting the project to the classroom blog, presenting it to another
class, or publishing it via an outside source.)

Lesson idea implementation:


Students will be interacting with Genially. I will introduce the app and show them the presentation I
want them to be interacting with. I will make sure students are aware of the learning goal by providing
them with a guide and rubric so they can see all components and know how many questions they need
to get correct. Students will be collaborating by working in groups. Students will be learning about
historical figures and interacting with the presentation. As the instructor, I will be present for support
and provide any useful feedback as I observe.
Once students complete the Genially, they will move to the collaboration jam board and post sticky
notes about facts regarding the historical leaders they learned about.

They will talk amongst themselves communicating what to write, and once every student has some-
thing posted we will collaborate and discuss whole class. Lastly, students will do an open-ended re-
sponse on paper to one of the two questions:

How was James Oglethorpe important to American History?

How do you think James Oglethorpe and Tomochichi would have interacted if Mary Musgrove wasn’t
there? How do you think the situation would turn out differently?

Managing student learning:


Students will have a certain amount of time to complete the activity. They will be working in groups,
constantly collaborating, and will be striving to know the most information to share. Students will
have the opportunity to work with other students that they work well with, and have assigned tasks

or roles to make sure every student is actively participating. Students will be constantly exploring
something new. Students will be constantly reminded of their learning goals, and have the support
they need to be successful. Students will be constantly engaged with the activity.

Universal Design for Learning (UDL):


The technology tool students will be exposed to during this activity will support all students because
it addresses multiple learning styles. Students will have a hands-on, verbal, written, and visual com-
ponent- to where every student can showcase their strengths. Students will have the ability to ex-
press what they have learned in diverse ways- showing multiple means of action and expression.

Reflective Practice:
I feel this activity will impact student learning in a very positive way. During this activity, students will
be exposed to a new and fun technology piece that allows for communication and collaboration. Stu-
dents will have the ability to collaborate and have fun while doing so. I look forward mostly to show-
ing my students the historical information and how to utilize it to their advantage because I believe it
will be beneficial to their development, and will make learning an interesting experience.
