Levels of Technology Integration (LoTi Level):

☐ Level 1: Awareness ☐ Level 2: Exploration ☐ Level 3: Infusion ☒ Level 4: Integration
☐ Level 5: Expansion ☐ Level 6: Refinement

Universal Design for Learning (UDL): For students who have a hard time seeing or have not had a lot of
experience typing on a computer, we can let them use The Big Key Board.

Lesson idea implementation: The teacher would do a brief overview of all of the choice the students can
choose from. They are able to pick from James Oglethorpe, Tomochichi, Mary Musgrove, Sequoyah, Jackie
Robinson, Martin Luther King, Jr, Juliette Gordon Low, or Jimmy Carter. The teacher will show an example of
what it is supposed to look like. Students will need to include, date of birth, date of death, place of birth, what
they were known for, family members, and 3 interesting facts. The students will have multiple days to work
on and complete their project. Students will also need to include pictures.

The students will have to share their project. The students will be assessed on how well they know the
information about their person and if they had all the required information. While the students are working
on their presentation, the teacher will walk around and help students as needed. We can share their
presentations by posting it to the teacher blog or by having the parents come in and the students can present
to their parents. At the end of the lesson the students will have a test over all the historical figures. Students
will get feedback on their presentation and on their test.

Reflective Practice: I think this lesson would help students learn more about the historical figures because
they will be doing hands on work. By having to research their person will allow them to see and find more
information. I think this would be a fun and educational experience for the students. It is a different way to
present the material rather than just having the teacher stand up and lecture the whole time about each
person. To take this to the next level the teacher could give the students choice on how they would want to
present their project instead of limiting them to PowerPoint.
