Levels of Technology Integration:
☐ Infusion Level: Students may work at a higher Bloom’s Level, but they do not have any “Voice or Choice”
during the activity and most of the decisions are made by the teacher.
☒ Integration Level: We would like to see ALL lessons/activities reach this level. The project is student-
driven. Students have “Voice and Choice” in the activities, selecting the topic of study and determining the
technology tool to demonstrate mastery of the standard. The teacher becomes more of a facilitator.
☐ Expansion Level: The projects created are shared outside of the classroom, publishing student work and
promoting authorship. This could be reached by showcasing the project on the school’s morning
newscast, posting the project to the classroom blog, or publishing via an outside source.
Universal Design for Learning (UDL)
The lesson will definitely keep the students engaged since they will be able to use iPads or computers. They
will also be playing games and watching videos over the course of the 3 days. There are multiple forms of

representation such as a video, pictures, music, audio and facts. There are different ways for them to answer
what they know, such as giving descriptions of what they learned, take a quiz, or play a game.
Lesson idea implementation:
The students’ job will be to work with their group to create a video about one of the six historical figures from
Georgia history. The students will retrieve a laptop or iPad from the classroom laptop cart or set. They will be
instructed on how to pull up and access the tools they need to. Students will begin by picking a historical
figure (no group will have the same topic) and then they will proceed with looking up facts, pictures, and
videos to place in their video. The students will be given two days to work on their projects. On day three,
each group will be expected to present their findings. The teacher will circulate the room taking anecdotal
records, answering questions, and monitoring student activities during the first two days of work.
The teacher will take the time to evaluate each group’s final project. If a project does not gain the needed
amount of points in order to display mastery, the teacher will meet with that group.
Importance of technology:
The multimedia aspect of the project helps to engage students but also make connects while exposing
students to different formats and tools. The project could be done without the technology however it would
lack the exposure and the project would not bring about the same level of engagement. Other forms of
technology that would be used would be the SmartBoard for example, when the students are presenting the
final project to the class.

Internet Safety and Student Privacy:
A possible issue that could arise while implementing this learning style is that we can never be 100% of how
safe a website is, if there is advertisements that lead to a site that is not safe or that the site may ask for
personal information. I would try to use sites that are linked through a school account or class links, make
sure that the school and I have proper paperwork on each student, and do my own research and thorough
search through the site before allowing the students to use it. Also allowing the students to use a site where
they publishes their work exposes them to anyone that has access to the site. So my job is to make sure they
know or come and get help with properly adjusting their settings.
Reflective Practice:
I think that students will learn more when they are having fun and are allowed to collaborate with their peers.
Since no group will be able to pick the same figure, this will expose the students to the figures they did not do
research on. To extend the lesson, following presentations, as a class we would review each historical figure
and then possibly take a quiz or play a review game. Class set of clickers or iPads for Kahoot, Gimkit, or
Socrative. SmartBoard for presentations.
