Game: Freezing dance
Reading Lead in
- Ask about what they might take if they go to the beach
Pre-reading
- Ask Ss to look at the picture and name the items \ they can see.
Point to food and ask What’s this/ What have they got
- Ask Ss to make predictions about what they are going to read.
While-reading
- Tell Ss that they are going to hear a recording
- Play the recording for Ss to listen and follow the text in their
books.

- Play the recording a second time. Ask Ss to underline new words.
- Elicit new words.
- Chain reading.
- Ask comprehension questions:
Exercise 3:
+ Read out the first sentence. Ask Ss to look at the text and find
the information which gives them the answer .
+ Show Ss how A been written as an example.
+ Move around the class as Ss complete the activity, helping if
necessary.
+ Invite Ss to read out the sentences with the correct words.
+ Give feedbak and error correction.
Post-reading
- - Ss work in groups of 4
- - Ss draw fruits and food they have got in their lunch box
- - Call Ss to talk about their friends

- Ask Ss what they can remember about the text from the previous
lesson.
Pre-listening
- Ask Ss to look at the picture on Class Book page 69, Exercise 1
and tell you what they can see. Ask them to predict what they are
going to hear.

- Play the recording for Ss to listen.
- Play the recording for Ss to listen and point to the animals as they

- Play the recording a third time, stopping after item 1 for Ss to
locate the correct food. Show them the example answer in their
books. Continue, pausing after each item for Ss to number the
people in order.
- Play the recording again for them to check their answers, then go
through the answers with the class.
Post-listening
Speaking Lead in
- Revise previous structures.
Presentation
- Explain the model for Ss.
- Focus attention on the speech bubbles. Ask a S to stand up. Read
the questions for the S to say the answers, referring to the picture
in Exercise 1.
Practice
Controlled activities
- Ask Ss to work in pairs. They take turns to ask and answer
questions about the roons in the picture.
- Correct pronunciation and grammar mistakes.
Writing Presentation
- Children close their books. Copy the example sentence and the
clocks from the Class Book onto the board.
Practice
- Ss do extra ex: handout
Wrap-up - Ask Ss what they have been through today.
- Assign homework.
