She turned into a fish again and as the rain did
not stop it became a lake which now is called
Toba Lake and the island surrounded by it
called Samosir Island.
‘One day, while Toba was do fishing, he
caught a big golden fish in his trap. It was the
biggest catch which he ever had in his life.
Toba and the beautiful princess had a son
named Samosir. Samosir became stubborn,
lazy and mischievous kid because they spoil
hhim too much,
Samosir was sad and told everything to his
mother. “Calm down, Samosir. Don't ery
anymore. Now, all you have to do is climbed the
hhighest tree and stayed there. There will be a
hhuge flood and this village will be sink and
disappear.” said mother,
Toba felt really upset with his son. And,
suddenly he said something rude that was
forbidden. “Your manner is lik
Itis because your mother was a fish. So you are
like her. Go away from here!” Toba didn’t
realize that what he said was so rude, He was
forbidden to tel about Samosir mother’s origin,
little animal,
Samosir went away and climbed the highest tree
in the village. Soon there was a big earthquake
followed by non-stop pouring rain The whole
area got flooded and the man drowned.
One day, when Samosir would help bringing
lunch to his father in the fields. He ate his father
lunch until it was remaining few, and when
‘Toba opened his lunchbox he was surprised it
was empty, nothing left in there.

young man named Toba. He lived ina simple
