321 Daffodil • This pattern is worked in a continuous spiral without
Yellow joining rounds. I recommend placing a stitch marker
300 Paper White in the last stitch of each round so you don’t lose
count of the stitches.
Scheepjes
Chunky Monkey- • You can use any yarn for this project, but please
note that the size of the finished piece may vary. I
1081 Primrose recommend using one hook size smaller than your
yarn suggests.
• I have included templates for the felt shapes used to
make Goldie, but please note that these templates
may not be the correct size for you if you are using
different yarn or a different sized hook. You may need
to scale the templates up/down to suit your Goldie
better. I find looking at a picture of them helps with
this.
• You can sell small quantities of the item made from
this pattern but you must give credit to me as the
original designer of the pattern.

Yarning Under
In this pattern I yarn under instead of over in my single
crochet stitches. This causes the stitches to be tighter and
lean less. This method is completely optional- but here is a
tutorial!
Insert your hook into the desired stitch, then yarn under and
pull through
Yarn under again and pull through both loops. You can tell
that you have yarned under correctly if your stitches look like
‘x’s instead of ‘v’s

How I colour change
In the stitch before you need to colour change- begin the
stitch as normal (insert hook, yarn under and pull through).
Then take the end of your new yarn colour and hold it tightly
behind your hook. Yarn under using the new colour and pull
through both stitches on your hook.
Your next stitch will now show in the new colour!
At the end of each round, I like to double knot the leftover tails
of yarn together and cut the ends short.

Working around a
chain
In this pattern you will be required to create an oval shape by working
around a line of chains. Take a look at the pictures below for some
guidance!
1. First, chain the amount that is listed in the pattern (this
example works with a chain of 5).
2. Beginning in the 2nd ch from hook: sc 3 (into the top
set of loops)
top loops
3. Sc 3 into the last chain
bottom loops
4. Turn your work so that the bottom loops are positioned
on the top.
5. Sc 3 down chains
6. Sc 3 into the last chain
5

Assembly
Assembly
1. Sew paw pads and toes to feet as pictured. Ensure that the
toes are facing forwards (the back of the body is the side with
extra rows).
2. Sew green patterns to front and back of dress as pictured. This
will leave a gap on either side for the arms to attach later.
3. Sew green arm patterns to the outer side of the arms as
pictured (the side with the extra rows).
4. Sew orange patterns over green on both dress and arms,
arranged as pictured.
16
Assembly
5. Sew button to the upper centre of the front of the dress, then
sew the collar pieces either side.
6. Sew pupils to irises, then irises to eyes as pictured. The pupils
should sit on the inner lower sides.
7. Sew mouth spot to front of head, in the centre. Ensure you
identify which side is the front of the head by looking at the
pictures below. It sits horizontally over rounds 19-37.
8. Sew eye spot to head above the mouth spot, just right of the
middle of the head. It sits over rounds 10-22.
The front of the head is
the side that sticks out in
line with the beginning
row of chains
17
Assembly
9. Sew nose and mouth to mouth spot. The nose sits in the
upper centre of it, over rounds 5-8. The mouth sits centrally
underneath, from the lower rounds 1-5.
10. Sew eyes to head (and eye spot). The left eye sits over rounds
11-18 of the head, with the right on the eye spot at the same
height. The eyes sit 4cm apart, either side of the centre of the
head. The pupils should be positioned on the inner sides.
18
Assembly
11. Sew ear spot on left side of head, over rounds 2-20. It lies
slightly diagonally, 0.5 cm from the left eye.
12. Sew ears to head. The right ear sits over rounds 9-11, with 2
stitches showing between it and the eye spot. The left ear sits
on the ear spot, over the central rounds. Ensure that the ears are
evenly positioned on either side of the head before sewing them
down.
You will notice that the ears stick out after sewing them down-
you can add a few stitches down the upper sides of them to
secure them more flatly.
Difference between
sewing down the sides of
the ears and leaving the
sides loose
19
Assembly
13. Sew body to head centrally, with the extra rows of the body at
the back. Line up the middle of Goldie’s face with the button on
her dress.
20
Assembly
14. Sew arms to either side of body (in the gaps from the zigzag
patterns). They sit 1 round from the top with the extra rows on
the outside.
15. Sew tail to back of body, 3-5 rounds from the bottom of the
dress, centrally. The curved side of the tail should face down.
Sew through the dress and into the body underneath to attach
more securely.
21
And you’re done!
