T-RAC
Recording and Automatic blood
Collector
T-RAC(*): the most user-friendly blood
collection device for operators
All-in-one
Case contains a complete system: T-RAC, barcode plate,
battery, barcode reader, tube holder, AC adaptor, memory.
Safe and easy transportation.
Ideal for mobile collection.
The closed case can be used as a stand for the T-RAC.
Convenient scale design
Accidental tube squeezing and disturbances caused by
false alarms are reduced thus making the operator feel
more at ease. Allows correct bag placement even for
more complex configurations.
Easy-to-follow operation
Large illuminated LCD screen
A large illuminated LCD screen provides easily readable
instructions guiding the user through every step in the most
common languages.
Progress bar
Makes the donation process very easy to monitor.
Action validation
Each action to interrupt the donation must be validated by
the user.
Easy barcode identification
The user is guided through the different barcode steps.
The first line refers to the requested barcode, the second to
the last one read.
Helpful barcode plate
Easy, reliable and quick registration process through
different barcodes (incidents, user ID, bag
configuration, etc.)

Systems
Magnetic scale connection
Prevents damage to the scale motor, a vital and expensive part of the
machine, should the scale be roughly touched by accident.
Easy assembling during mobile sessions.
Logical and easy-to-use
7-button control panel
Convenient holders for tubes
and barcode reader
Sampling tubes and barcode reader are always
within reach.
T-RAC: the optimal blood collection
device for Good Manufacturing Process
T-RAC data is managed by its powerful software partner T-SOFTD
T-SOFTD is powerful T-SOFTD offers data directly for component
Up to 120 T-RACs can be processing
included in one network. T-SOFTD can transfer data directly to T-SOFT/
T-ACE, thus allowing the component processing
system, through interactive communication, to
deliver production files with all components
fully documented.
T-SOFTD is user-friendly T-SOFTD is highly flexible
The program runs in Data can be exported to numerous
Windows, the most popular other software packages including
operating system in the blood bank data management
world. As with all Windows systems.
programs, it is easy to
handle by means of pop-up
menus and icons.
Extensive and flexible four-step programming
General settings
Standard settings of the machine including safety specifications
(e.g. maximum flow limit, minimum flow limit, delay times,
donation volumes, etc.)
Barcode steps
Programming different barcodes to be read before or after donation.
In addition to an extensive range of standard barcodes, the centre can
define barcodes (from DATA 1 to 3) adapted to meet more specific needs.
Checks on barcode steps
In-process checks on barcodes that should be the same or different are
performed. This helps the user with proper identification though increasing
reliability of identified barcodes and minimising operating errors.
ISBT reading
In-process checks on ISBT barcodes.
By controlling the FLAG and the identifier, T-RAC helps the operator in
proper identification though increasing reliability of barcodes. There is no
need for manual data input, thus minimising operating errors.
Self-check procedure before each donation
Checks done: scale calibration, memory
connected, battery power, etc.
Guarantees correct weighing during donations
and accurate data transfer.
T-RAC, the link to standardised, high quality products
Transfusion
Systems
Standardised high quality products
By connection of T-SOFTD to the central administration unit or directly to T-ACE/T-SOFT,
TERUMO’s compatible Automatic Components processing system allows standardisation
and complete documentation from blood donation to final products.
T-ACE/T-SOFT can use donation data
Allows optimisation of the separation process through accurate parameter settings thus
improving the quality of the blood products delivered to your patients.
T-RAC/T-SOFTD T-ACE/T-SOFT
Allows complete donation
documentation.
HOST COMPUTER Allows complete processing
documentation.

T-RAC data can be stored on IC
IC gives the mobile teams total flexibility without
reducing the power of computer aided data
management. Data pertaining to 45-50 donations
can be safely stored on one IC without risk
of data overwrite.
T-RAC data can be downloaded via
the IC-reader T-RIC
Data stored on IC during mobile collections
are downloaded in T-SOFTD via T-RIC.
T-RAC data can also be transferred directly
via a network connection
For donations at fixed collection sites direct
access to the donations data can be obtained
through a network.
T-RAC: the safest blood collection device
for your donors
Extensive safety features for your donors and...
Self-check procedure before each donation.
Checks done: battery power, scale, etc.
Guarantees a proper donation procedure all the time.
Programmable safety settings
Flow too high, post-venepuncture flow delay, etc. For the donor’s safety the clamp closes and the
alarm is activated (accidental touching of scale, arterial punction, and misplacement of the needle,
etc.). The user has to take corrective measures in order to proceed with the donation.
OFF ON
Sound and led indicators
Allows the user to intervene as quickly as possible.
Clamp and tube positioning control
A check of the tube positioning is done during
collection to guarantee correct blood volume.
Central positioning of clamp
to avoid traction on tubing.
...also higher quality products for your patients.
Optimal mixing
The frequency of the blending varies towards the collection to ensure homogenous mixing.
Programmable minimum flow limit
The ”flow too low” alarm assures accurate follow-up of the donation time in order to optimise the
quality of the whole blood unit.
T-SOFTD allows complete donation
traceability
Computer-aided data capture (times, weights, errors, incidents, donor identification, etc.) reduces
manual procedures thereby minimising patient risk.
