Project Information
Given the necessary materials and supplies the candidate is expected to perform
the following project:
Assessment place: Well equipped Training Centre
Project 1: - Design Network Infrastructure
Time allotted: 4:30 hrs
Task: - Given the following scenario, do according to the following
XYZ Company has four building in a compound that is in average distance of 75m
between them. Each building has two floors. Assume that in average there are 20
users per floor. The company also has a SOHO 1MB speed of internet connection
from the service provider. Here, it is expected that you should propose the cost
efficient and maximum throughput way of implementing this network.
The candidate should demonstrate the following by using Visio 2003
software
1. The physical and logical network diagram
2. The appropriate type of cable to be used
3. The appropriate cabling to be used for the network
4. The appropriate network devices required
Project 2: install and configure server 2008
Task1: installing server 2008 operating
system
1. Install Windows Server 2008 Operating System on the Server Computer
2. Establish connections among the Server and the two Clients
3. Configure the Server as a DNS and Active Directory for the Server Computer using
the HRM .local as a domain name.
4. Configure server as DHCP with range of 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.4
Task2:-configer the server
1. Create Groups of Computer using two group names Human recourse and Director office
and make sure that the Client Computers joined the groups.
2. Create Users and Passwords for the two Groups as follows:
A For Human recourse group, Users ( Alemu and Almaz ), Password
(Pa$$w0rd1 and Pa$$w0rd2 ) respectively.
B For Director office group, Users (Mamo and Abrehet ), Password
(Pa$$w0rd 3 and Pa$$w0rd 4) respectively.
3. Set the Access limitation time for the Human recourse group users to access the network
from Monday to Friday during lunch hour from 12:30AM to 1:30PM only.
4. Add (join) the Client Computers to the Domain HRM local.
5. Make your server secure by using Firewall
6. create technical documentation for every network devices that you use on this task
7. save the documentation on the desktop by the name documentation
8. share the document for the clients
9. print the shared document from the clients
