PATTERN NOTES:
• When working with a dark color and a light color, some bleeding may occur. In this case, the red could bleed
into the white turning it pink. One way to eliminate this possibility is to give your red (or darker color) skein a
quick rinse in lukewarm water until the water runs clear. Gently press out the excess water with a towel and
then hang your skein to dry. Be careful that you don't tangle the skein. Once dry, you can wind into a ball to
crochet your ornament.
• Gauge is not crucial to this project, however, it will affect yardage and size.
• Each Candy Cane uses approximately 6 yds of Red (Color A) and 10 yds of White (Color B).
• To make the ties, cut a length of yarn in Color B to match the border and attach to the top of your
ornament.
• To keep from having several tails to work in, you can carry your yarn throughout. In pattern instructions, the
colors are changed by dropping one and picking up the other. These color changes are hidden with the
border.
