The gearbox is supplied with the third gear enga-
ged. The gear control lever is held in place on the
gearbox by an elastic retaining strap.
Any handling of the gearbox must be made with
the third gear engaged.
Any impact to the gearbox during handling may
cause the gearbox to lock if the third gear is not
engaged.

Removing the fifth gear hub:

a Remove the fifth gear kickdown point (5) .
Note:
When removing the fifth gear kickdown point,
recover one or both 0.30mm washers.

Removing the fifth fixed gear: REFITTING

Do not scrape the joint faces of the aluminium,
any damage caused to the joint face will result in
a risk of leaks.
WARNING
To ensure proper sealing, the gasket surfaces
must be clean, dry and not greasy (avoid any fin-
ger marks).
