1. God is faithful in His promise. God promised Abraham many things and kept His promises, even when Abraham failed. God has given us even more promises. 2. God is true to His promise. God confirmed His promise to Abraham with an oath, swearing by Himself. God's reputation is at stake in His oath, so it is impossible for Him to lie. 3. We must anchor our hope in God and His promises. When we doubt God, it is because we lose patience. But God's timing is perfect. We must faithfully keep our promises to God, as He keeps His promises to us.

Theme: Our What If (GOD CAN)

Topic: Anchored in Hope

Passage: Hebrew 6:19-20

When you hear the word HOPE, what idea comes into your mind?
We all have different ideas of Hope.
In our generation Hope is a word with a lot of hurt aches, disappointments, especially
discouragement.
Hope is so essential for us because we rely everything unto it.
Hope is what we are waiting to gain a peace or freedom.
Some people put their hope on time. They will tell that time will tell us when it is right, time will
tell us if we are capable, time will tell us if we are meant to be, time will tell us on our success.
Remember time has no power, time isn’t in control in our lives, time can’t make us to be
successful and time can’t change someone’s life.
We are putting our hope on the things that isn’t in control in everything in this world. Sometimes
we put our hope in person. Ika nga nila pag na discourage tayo halimbawa sa love life. You fall
in love at the wrong person at the wrong time. We feel discourage because we are hoping for that
person to be part of our life or to be with us and help us to the end. And if that person fails us
what’s gonna be our reaction.
In the book of Hebrew or they called the book of better things. The book was written obviously
in the lifetime of Timothy, whom the author knew (13:23). People in this book are experiencing
persecution. They are scattered people because of it. If they found out to be a Christian they will
be killed. They will be stoned to death, they will be cut in half, they will be crucified up and
down or in this time if they are rich their riches will be transferred to the person that will point
them out that they are Christians.
But in our context now the persecution that we felt are financial problem, emotional problems,
requirements, criticism, judgmental people, and mostly ourselves.
In this kind of situation, we are hoping to overcome all of that. And sometimes we lose hope and
we think far beyond of that situation in short dito na po papasok yung mga WHAT IF natin in
life, ang pag overthink, and we rely our hope in different things.
Today I would bring you to the theme Our WHAT IF (GOD CAN)
And why do we need to anchor our hope in Christ.
1. God is faithful in His promise

God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have
helped his people and continue to help them. (v.10)
God’s main promise to Abraham is recorded in Genesis 22:16–17. In spite of Abraham’s failures
and sins, God kept His promise and Isaac was born. Many of God’s promises do not depend
on our character but on our faithfulness.
Today we have more promises that God has given kaysa kay Abraham.
Unsay naka apan nganong ang promise dugay? Usahay maka ingon ta. Lord murag wala man
Need
nato ug faith, obedience ug mohulat patiently sa atong gina ampo.

2. God is true to His promise

God not only gave Abraham a promise, but He also confirmed that promise with an oath. Kung
ang witness takes an oath in court, he is confronted with the words “so help me God.”
None is greater than God, so He swore by Himself! But God did not do this only for Abraham.
He has also given His promise and oath to “the heirs of promise or katong mga gasunod or
descendants ni Abraham, even kita as spiritual seed of Abraham apil ta sa kani nga promise.
Tungod sa oath sa Ginoo sa iyang sarili nakataya diri ang reputation niya or iyang integrity as
God sa iyang oath. So, it is imposible for God to lie.
So why we need to doubt God? God is always true to His word and God would never lie to His
people. Ang problem lang is we impatient waiting to what God has promised and what we
prayed for, in short usahay gadali rata sa mga butang nga gusto nato.
Usahay makalimot
ta nga nay tulo ka answer si God sa atong pag ampo, the answer is Yes, no, Wait.
Wait, God has perfect time for it, we need to patiently wait, we need to trust more God in his
timing, we need to have more faith in Him.
Mga what if’s nato kay pwede ma dugang sa atong mga pang huna-huna ug sa atong perspective
sa kinabuhi but ayaw tuguti nga mo abot sa atong kasing kasing, kay mao nani nga time nga mo
doubt ta sa Ginoo.
God made his promise kay Moses when he says nga ang mga Israelites kay makaadto sa Canaan
or sa promise land. Even how difficult ang gi agihan sa mga Israelita nga mga gahig ulo still gi
tuman japon sa Ginoo iyang promise.
God has promise us even dili ta deserve nga promisan, even dili ta worthy biskan sa iyang oath
but God did this because of His love para sa atoa.
Usually nato gina huna-huna ang promise ni God sa atoa ang blessing nga iyang ihatag and we
keep holding on sa kana nga mga butang. But the question is gihimo pud ba nato ang mga
promise nato sa iyaha? Faithful pud ba ta ug true pud bata sa atong promise sa iyaha?
I know lisod sa atoa tumanon ni, even ako naa koy lapses kay Lord naa koy mga short coming sa
iyaha.
iyaha.
Even unsa kalisod ang pag sunod nato sa iyaha, biskan daghan pag sulay, I apil nato ang mga
panulay we need to anchored our hope sa Ginoo.
Ginoo. It means naka barog tag maayo ug naka tindog tag maayo sa atong promise sa Ginoo ug
nag hold on ta sa iyahang promise.

Jesus was crucified on the cross para sa akoa, para sa inyoha ug para sa atoang tanan. Rest
assured ta sa atong hope sa Ginoo that someday we are with Him in heaven, kung musunod
ta sa iyaha and someday He find us faithful and obedient sa iyaha and tanan natong
pagsunod ug pagtuo is worth it in the end.
