The lesson plan details teaching students about the eight planets in the solar system. The objectives are for students to be able to identify the eight planets, understand their importance, and write their names in order. The procedure involves reviewing the previous lesson on the sun, motivating students with an energizing dance, presenting on each planet, and having students play a game to arrange pictures of the planets in order.

III. PROCEDURE:

Teachers Activity Pupils Activity

A. Preliminary Activities

Prayers
Okay students please stand up
and I want you to bow your
head and feel the presence of (Bowing their heads)
Lord.

Our Father in heaven…

Amen. Amen.

Before you have a seat kindly

arrange your chair properly.

Greetings
Good morning my Grade 4 Good morning teacher Jane!
Eagle! Welcome to Grade 4 Eagle.

Checking of Attendance
Before we proceed, I’m going
to check your attendance
and if I call your name just
say “I love you teacher Jane”

Understand?
Yes, teacher Jane.
Very good! No one is absent
for today. I want you to give
yourself a “very good clap”

Checking of Assignments
Yesterday, I give an
assignment, right? Yes, teacher Jane.

Okay, so please pass it

forward.

Review of the Past Lesson

What was our lesson
yesterday, anyone who
remembered it?

Yes, Christine?
Teacher Jane, our lesson yesterday is
all about sun.

Very good! It’s all about sun.

So, what is sun?

Yes, Jimuel?”
“Sun is the center of the solar
system”

Very good! Sun is a yellow

dwarf star in the center of the
solar system, and it is the
largest, brightest and most
massive object in the system.

B. Motivation
Before we start our lesson, I
want you to stand up and let’s
have an energizer. This
energizer called “Let’s dance
together with planets”
Are you ready?
Yes, teacher Jane! We are ready.
(Enjoying while dancing)

So, how’s the dance?

We enjoyed it teacher Jane

Very good! I’m glad that

everyone’s enjoyed it.

C. Sharing of the Objectives

Before we go to our lesson
today, let us read first our
lesson’s objectives.

Yes, Mariel. Thank you for

raising your hand, kindly read At the end of the lesson, the pupils
the objectives. should be able to;
1. identify the eight planets in
our solar system
2. recognize the importance of
the eight planets in our solar
system
3. Write the name of the eight
planets in our solar system
according to it’s sequence
Thank you for reading. Let’s
give Mariel a “good job clap”

D. Presentation/Discussion
Since we already know the
objectives. Let’s proceed to
our topic.

Our topic is all about “Planets

in Our Solar System”

How many planets in Our

Solar System? Do you have Teacher Jane there are eight planets
any idea? in our solar system.

Very good! There are eight

planets in our solar system.
The first planet in our solar
system is Mercury

It is the smallest planet in our

solar system and closest to
the sun. It’s slightly larger
than Earth’s Moon. Mercury
is the fastest planet zipping
around the Sun every 88
Earth day’s.

Again, what is the first

planet?

Very Good! So, let’s proceed

to the second planet.
All: Teacher Jane the first planet is
Mercury
The second planet in our solar
system is Venus it spins
slowly in the opposite
direction from most planets.
A thick atmosphere traps heat
in a runway greenhouse
effect, making it the hottest
planet in our solar system.

So, what is the hottest planet

in our solar system?

Correct! Let’s proceed to the

third planet.
All: It’s Venus teacher Jane

The third planet in our solar

system is Earth

It’s our home planet. It’s the

only place we know of so far
that is inhabited by the living
things. It’s also the only
planet in our solar system
with liquid water on the
surface.

What is the third planet?

Fabulous! Now, let’s know

the fourth planet.

The fourth planet in our solar

system is Mars
All: The third planet is Earth.

Mars is a dusty, cold, desert

world with a very thin
atmosphere. There is strong
evidence Mars was the wetter
and warmer with a thicker
atmosphere. It’s also called
the “red planet”
Again, what is the red and
fourth planet?

Correct! So, let’s proceed to

the fifth planet.
The fifth planet in our solar
system is Jupiter
All: The red and fourth planet is
Mars, teacher Jane.

Jupiter is more than twice

massive than the other planets
of our system combined. The
giant planet’s Great Red spot
is a centuries-old storm
bigger than Earth.

Before we proceed, what is

the largest and fifth planet in
our solar system?

Correct! Now, let’s proceed

to the sixth planet

The sixth planet in our solar

system is Saturn All: The fifth planet in the solar
system is Jupiter, teacher Jane.

Saturn adorned with a

dazzling, complex system of
icy rings, Saturn is unique in
our solar system. The other
giant planet’s have rings, but
none are us spectacular as
Saturn’s.

Again, what is the sixth

planet?

Very good! So, let’s proceed

to the seventh planet.
The seventh planet in our
solar system is Uranus

All: The sixth planet is Saturn

Uranus is the seventh planet

from the Sun. It rotates at a
nearly 90 degree angle from
the plane of it’s orbit. This
unique tilt makes Uranus
appear to spin on it’s side.

Again, what is the seventh

planet?

Correct! Let’s proceed to the

eighth planet.

The eighth planet in our solar

system is Neptune
All: The seventh planet is Uranus
The eighth and most distance
planet orbiting our Sun. It’s
dark, cold and whipped by
supersonic winds. It was the
first planet located through
mathematical calculations.

So again, what it the eighth

planet in our solar system?

E. Generalization
Since, everyone knows the
eight planets in our solar
system.
All: The eighth planet in our solar
Do you think it’s important system is Neptune
us to know what are the eight
planets in our solar system?
And why?

Very good! What else?

Yes, teacher Jane. It’s important to

know the different planets in our
solar system for us to be more aware
Fabulous! All your answers about the planets.
are correct. Everyone, give
yourself a “fabulous clap”
It’s important to know the eight
F. Application planets in our solar system because it
helps us to have a knowledge not
Okay! Since, we are done only in the Earth planet but to the
discussing the lesson. We other planets.
will play a game.

Do you want to play a game?

Okay, this game is called

“THE CLASH” The clash is
a competition between girls
and boys

We are going to play that

game but, listen to my Yes, we want to play a game teacher
instructions carefully Jane.

Instructions:
All the girls will be the group
1 and all the boys will be the
group 2. Cooperation is a
must!

I have here 2 envelopes.

Inside of this are the pictures
of different planets that you
need to arrange according to
it’s sequence. Then after
arranging the pictures, you
need to write the name of
each planet. The first group to
finish and answer correctly
will win the games.
I will give you 5 minutes to
finish the game.

Are you ready?

Good luck, the timer starts

now.

Yes, we are ready teacher Jane.

IV. Evaluation

I think all of you ae already understand our lesson’s today. I will give you a short quiz, so
