This yarn is available on Etsy, Amazon, loveknittin.com,
the wool warehouse and many other online shops. Just type the name
in to your search bar. 5905
However you can use any type of yarn or wool, just be aware that
the size of the flower will be different.
Gauge is not important as long as you are consistent.

Notes: When you see stitches in brackets, it means that all the
ones in the bracket are worked in to one stitch.
Example: (sc inc) means 2sc worked in to one stitch.
(3sc) means 3sc in the same stitch.
(3sc) x 2 means 3sc in each of the next 2 stitches.

Petal - Wire
Cut a piece of approximately 8”(20cm) of florist wire and thread it
through the stitch on your hook (p1 & 2).
Crochet this whole next round over the wire (p3).

Corolla
Corolla: Crochet Button
Leave a long starting tail and work 6sc in to a Magic
Ring, slst to join ring.
Work approximately 12sc in to the ring until it looks
like a nice, round button.
Leave a long tail. Pull the tail through the middle so
you have both tails together.

Assembly
Place the first 2 petals together as shown in (p1).
Twist the wires tight together at the base (p2).
Place the last petal on top with the good side touching and
again twist the wire at the base (p3).
Pull the corners of each petal over the one before (like fan)
as shown in (p4).
Push all the petals up a bit (p5).
Thread the tails of the corolla through the darning needle
(p6) and stitch through the middle of the flower (p7).
Pull the tails out underneath (p8).

Assembly
Wind the tails around the stem and trap the end in between the wires.
Spray generously with hairspray to glue the yarn together at the end (p1)
or use glue if you prefer. Once dry, cut the end off (p2). You can leave the
petals as they are or bend the edges out a bit (p3).
Use a pin or safety pin to attach the poppy to your collar.
