1. Review previous lesson by asking pupils to name any Malaysian dish that pupils know.

2. Write pupils’ responses in the form of a bubble map.


3. Activity 1:
a. Play a mime game to review the cooking vocabulary from Lesson 84.
b. Introduce new vocabulary by showing flashcards. (SB pg 117)
c. Pupils look at the pictures in their SB and guess what the text is going to be about.
d. Play the CD and have pupils shadow read. (track 7)
e. Ask questions to help pupils understand the instructions of the recipe.
LESSON DEVELOPMENT

f. Ask pupils what they think about the dish.


4. Activity 2:
a. Draw pupils’ attention to Activity 2.
b. Read the activity aloud and ask pupils to look at activity 1.
c. Encourage pupils to follow the example of the text and draw their own strange dish.
d. You can also ask pupils to write the recipe for their strange recipe. (Assessment)
e. Have pupils present their recipes in groups.
f. Each group should choose a winner for the ‘best’ recipe – this might be a yummy one or a strange one,
they can decide.
g. Have the winners of each group present their recipes to the class.
h. Ask for opinions on the recipes. (Assessment)
