Subiecu Bye election to Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council by the Members of Legislative
Assembly-Change in election schedule'reg

The Election Commission of India had announced schedule for holding a bye election to Uttar
Pradesh Legislative Council and two separate bye elections to Telangana Legislative Council by the
Members of respective Legislative Assembly, vide its PrEss Note No, ECI/PN/OI/2024 dated
04.0L.2024
Z. As the last date forwithdrawal of candidatures, i.e.Z}ndlanuary 2024 (Monday) is declared a
'Public Holiday' as per Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, by Government of Uttar Pradesh, vide
notification dated L2.0t.2024, therefore, in respect of bye election to Uttar Pradesh Legislative
Council announced vide above mentioned press note dated 04.0L.2024, the Election Commission of
India has suitably amended the schedule changing the last date for withdrawal of candidatures to the
next working day i.e. 23.d )anuary 2024 (Tuesday). Consequently, the date of poll and date of counting
of votes has been shifted to 30th )anuary 2024 (Tuesday). Hours of poll will be 09:00 am to 04:00 pm
while counting of votes shall commence on 30th ]anuary,2024 (Tuesday) at 05:00 pm'
3. There is no change in schedule with respect,to two separate bye elections to Telangana
Legislative Council by the Members of Legislative Assembly announced vide above-mentioned press
note dated 04.0L.2024.
