          Prerequisites:
          • Ensure that any pending print cycles have completed.
          • Power Off the imager, then disconnect the power cord.
                  Note:
Refer to DryView 5700 Adjustments and Replacements, Publication No. 9G3889_en_M Replace
the Machine Control System, MCS Board about how to remove the Top Cover or Right Cover.
The top or right cover must be removed to have access to the MCS to identify which chip is
          installed.
To determine if the new FPGA chip is installed on the MCS the you received from stock,
compare the following picture with the chip serial number and board part number
          information:

                                                                                TRIMAX TX40 Laser Imaging Systems
                  Important:
          • If you upgrade the firmware for the microcontrollers BEFORE installing software v3.2.0, the
MCS board with the NEW FPGA Chip AL8839 will be unusable and no longer
upgradeable. Furthermore, all new MCS boards with Cyclone IV new package layout
should come out of the factory with FPGA version 1.11.0.
          • In general, the new MCS boards should NOT be downgraded to fit current software
(rather, SW should be updated to resolve a 20156 instead). DV5700 v3.2.0.p5 contains an
enhancement which disallows FPGA firmware downgrade in support of new CycloneIV
chip (MCS to embed ARM firmware update 2.3.0).
Read and perform the following important actions.
          1. If on the MCS you have the NEW FPGA Chip AL8839, CYCLONE IV, S/N
             EP4CE6E22C8N, do the following steps:
              a. Upgrade your printer to v3.2.0 base software.
For instructions, refer to Install LINUX DV5700/TRIMAX TX40 Software, Version
                 3.2.0 (Base Software).
              b. After v3.2.0. install, if an EC20156 displays, upgrade the firmware for the
microcontrollers by using your service laptop connected via Secure Link, and
using the Service Tool (WebLink). Refer to Update the Microcontroller Firmware.
          2. If your MCS has the OLD FPGA Chip, it is not mandatory to install v3.2.0, but
it is recommended. see Fixes and Enhancements below.
For more information on why it is recommended, refer to Fixes and Enhancements
for M20 (Productivity), Base Version 3.2.0 Plus Patch 5.

          2. Connect the service laptop to the printer via SecureLink and Service Tool (Web
             Link).
                      Note:
Always use the most current Secure Link Client and WebLink software versions on your
              laptop.
          3. Manually capture Network IPs, DNS IPs, Optics Configuration and Proxy data.
          4. Back up the imager system configuration by selecting Menu > Utilities > Backup/
             Restore > Backup.
                     Note:
Also save a copy of the backup file to the laptop using the Download Backup button.
          5. Remove all film cartridges from the imager.
          6. Power off the imager.
          7. Insert the bootable USB drive into an available port on the DRE.
          8. Make sure the KEYLOK is installed in the DRE.
          9. Power on the machine and wait for the completion of the software update.
During software installation, the DRE will emit a beep every few seconds.
When the procedure has completed successfully, the beeps change to continuous
              medium-pitched beeps.
          10. Power off the machine and remove the bootable USB drive.
                      Important:
After a system re-ghost, the imager goes through a custom configuration on the initial
power-on sequence using the KEYLOK security/configuration installed in the DRE.
          11. Power on the imager.
The configuration process could take up to 10 minutes to complete.

                                                                                TRIMAX TX40 Laser Imaging Systems
          12. When the Amber Power indicator is flashing, automatic configuration from the
KEYLOK (VARInstaller) has started. You should hear periodic medium pitch beeps
              while the process completes.
                    Note:
Code 935 will display after power-on and during VARInstaller operation. This is normal.
          13. Once the VARInstaller has completed, the imager will emit 3 high-frequency beeps,
the 935 will disappear, and the imager will automatically restart.
              a. If the 935 code is still on the display after 1 minutes, power cycle the machine
                 manually using the main switch.
              b. After the manual reboot, if 935 still appears on the display, something failed in
the VARInstaller installation. In that case, power off the machine and restart the
software installation procedure starting with Step 11.
              c. After a successful VARInstaller process, code 156 may display on the Local
Panel, indicating that the ARM microcontroller firmware must be updated.
For instructions on updating the firmware, refer to Update the Microcontroller
                 Firmware.
              d. If the release does NOT require an update of ARM microcontroller firmware, in

                 Patch.
          14. Before executing any further steps, check which chip is installed on the MCS board.
                      Important:
              • If your MCS is installed the OLD FPGA chip, S/N EP4CE6E22C7N, proceed to Update
                  the Microcontroller Firmware.

                     Note:
Reverse View specifies if the film needs to be viewed with the Glossy (Emulsion) side
facing Up. The default setting is No. Basically, Reverse View reorients the image when
printed on the film so that the user can view it with the emulsion out on a light box. This
parameter now will be recorded in the back up.
