COMPONENT LOCATION

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Crank Angle Sensor (CKPS), installed at bottom side of transmission clutch housing, measures the number of revolutions of flywheel. ECM
calculates engine speed by using the signla. 4 pulse is generated per 1 rev. ECU can detect error only when RPM is more than 400 RPM.

DTC DESCRIPTION

This code is set if there is no signal from crank angle sensor while Np sensor signal is normally received. At that time, ECM substitutes
crank angle sensor for Np sensor signal. Starting is impossible if both crank angle sensor and Np sensor break down. If starting is done
normally during restarting, one out of two sensors cause a fault. If starting is impossible, both sensors cause a fault. MIL doesn't work. (or
ECM doesn't turn on MIL.)
