Part 1- Values Audit

Personal values are comprised of the things that we believe are essential to ensure we are
working and living our life in our way. In my degree life, the most influencing personal value
is integrity which reminds me to always do the right things. Besides, wisdom leads good
judgement while with value of perseverance, I could work with strong determination.
Moreover, achievement is important for me as my study motivation. Lastly, independence
helps me to behave in discipline manner.
The consideration of these values is crucial in determining career success. This is because
personal values determine our life purpose and future actions by influencing our daily decisions
(Kaygin & Gulluce 2013). Same thing applies to work, our core values affect our organisational
behaviour and how we handle different situations in workplace. Once we understand our
values, we can set a clear goal of achievement, hence working in a right path way to achieve
success (Dean 2018).
Under my current course, Banking and Finance, I have developed a few hard skills.
1. Computer technology: Microsoft Office Suite and Social media
2. Hard communication skills:
i) Verbal- I can speak 4 types of language which are Chinese, English, Bahasa Melayu,
Cantonese.
ii) Written- Digital communication such as e-mail and blogging, good at copywriting.
3. Data analysis- Expert in online and book researching and data presentation.
4. Mathematical and numerical skills- Quick and accurate calculations.
5.Planning skills: Handle well in schedule and event management hence completing task
efficiently.
With all these hard skills, I believe I can cope with job scope of Banking and Finance which
requires technological knowledge, effective communication, and critical thinking.

Part 2- Capability Audit

Selection process of new employees through selection criteria is crucial in hiring good
employees with required standards hence maintain high quality production and performance
value of the organisations. Firstly, effective communication skills which ensure organizational
objectives to be achieved (Choren 2015). Throughout my course of degree, I possess a strong
communication skill in both oral and written aspects. Throughout the subject International
Marketing, I was required to present openly during tutorial classes and I was praised by my
presentation performance because I was able to speak loud and clearly while facilitating
discussion with other students by asking and discussing questions. Besides, I was able the score
well in the assignment due to well written essay with sufficient research.
Secondly, Bahnot (2009) stated that good organisation and administrative skills are useful
in running a business efficiently and keep an office organised. Among the administrative skills,
I am mastered in problem solving skills by identifying and analysing the key issues of the
problems. When I was doing the assignment of the subject Risk Management, I was able to
research and analyse the key problems from the question, hence setting out ideas to identify
and collect useful data. With the use of internet, academic journals and books, I had
successfully solved the complex problem by providing applicable analysis. I also scored very
high score for the assignment with a comment that I was able to identify the main issues and
make accurate decisions for problem solving.
Furthermore, in order to create an efficient productivity and harmony working
environment, employers nowadays are emphasizing good team working skills (Manzoor et al.
2011). Through Integrated Business Challenge 1 & 2, I was totally exposed into group work
and I was assigned as group leader for the two semesters. As a leader and group member at the
same time, I always took the responsibility to divide task equally and share information among
the members by organising adequate group meetings. I had also created a group chat in social
media so that my members could always ask me for advice and help flexibly. Although I was
the leader, I fully involved in my group work by completing respective task on time and
constantly seek for feedbacks from them. Thus, I definitely own the ability to contribute to
teamwork in order to achieve team goals.
As customer is the priority for every business company, a well developed customer
service skill is crucial to maintain customer satisfaction stated by Jahanshahi et al. (2011). In
order to face all types of customer, I am committed to engage and maintain good customer
relationship. Friendliness and well developed interpersonal skills are my advantage. I had
participated in the volunteer project of helping the refugee kids in Manna Learning Centre. I
volunteered to a organised educational campaign in the centre as a teacher and I was managed
to create close relationship with the kids and workers because I am willing to engage myself
into their study culture. After the campaign, I continued to help out the agents with my passion
hence the relationship remains until now.
Lastly, fresh graduates with proven ability in managing projects are more prioritized
(Cicekli 2013). In year 2, I was assigned as leader in a group to produce a short film and report
about Malaysian culture. I had fully utilized the different skills from different members by
dividing them to handle respective parts. At the same time, I had planned weekly task for 6
weeks schedule. In order to produce a satisfied product, I had also enhanced my video editing
skills in a short time. In the end we completed our project successfully on time because with
well-managed project, all of us were more passionate to complete the task quickly and
effectively.
In order to improve more on my ability in managing projects, I would like to join more
club activities such as VUBC to involve in more organized based events. By working under
the current seniors, I can learn how to handle a larger project successfully. After gaining
experience for about half a year, I would introduce myself to take higher position and apply
my management skills to plan a new club activity by my personal idea. Hence, I am well
prepared to handle a larger scale of projects skillfully in the future.

Part 3- Graduate ‘Elevator Pitch’

Hello, my name is XXXXXX. I will be graduating from Victoria University
College with a degree of Banking and Finance. I’m looking into banking or finance industry
because I believe I have relevant and professional knowledge about this industry. Besides, I
have also taken Risk Management as my elective subject and scored high distinction. Hence, I
can easily apply my ability in risk analysis which I think is crucial in managing financial
business. In terms of soft skill, I have a good leadership skill as I have been always nominated
as a team leader due to my strategic thinking and quick response on emergency. I am definitely
willing to work in a team because I have strong interpersonal skills hence I can work effectively
with many people. For example, during the volunteer event with Manna Learning Centre, I
have to contact the agents personally while planning all kind of activities with my other group
members. Additionally, due to my friendliness, I can handle many types of customers with my
patience thus maintain customer satisfaction. I have also well developed my communications
skills in terms of verbal and written which were extremely important to work effectively in an
organisation. I am prepared to contribute my skills and abilities to my future career. At the
same time seeking for further advice in order to be more successful in Banking and Finance
sector.
