fulfillment of the requirements of the degree
INTRODUCTION
In recent years, the growing vape industry has witnessed an unprecedented surge
in popularity, with an ever-expanding community of users who are drawn to the allure of
vapes. According to the Grand View Research (2024), The Philippines e-cigarette and
vape market size was valued at USD 113.6 million in 2023 and is anticipated to grow at a
compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 18.7% from 2024 to 2030. As the market
continues to evolve, understanding the factors influencing the buying decisions of vape
users, or vapers as they call themselves, has become paramount for businesses,
policymakers, and researchers alike.

This research explores the complex landscape surrounding the buying decisions
made by consumers of vape products. Vaping, which was once considered as a niche
subculture, has now spread through mainstream society, attracting a diverse demographic
with an array of products catering to various preferences and needs. In regard to this,
investigating the factors that influence the decisions, preferences, and buying patterns of
vape consumers not only uncovers market trends but also offers insightful information to
industry players seeking to navigate this dynamic market.

This study is aimed to unravel the multifaceted nature of vape purchasing


decisions, examining the interaction and relationship between product features, health
considerations, social influences, and regulatory factors. We aim to provide a more
thorough understanding of this fast-changing market by examining the subtleties of
consumer choices in the vape market. This research provides valuable insights that will
help entrepreneurs, politicians, and health professionals make more informed decisions in
the future.

In this study, we seeked to fill the information gap about the reasons behind
purchases related to vapes by providing a nuanced perspective that delves deeper than the
surface of consumer behavior. By exploring different factors such as product features,
addictions, health considerations, social influences, and regulatory factors, we hope to
make a significant contribution to the conversation on vaping behaviors and assist in
creating a more knowledgeable and responsible future for this rapidly and continuously
growing industry.

Time and Place of the Study
This research was conducted at Vape Shops around San Jose City, Nueva Ecija. This
research was carried out from March -.... 2024.

Methods and Procedure


This study utilized descriptive research design method. The researchers collect the data of
fifty (50) respondents to investigate the buying decisions of vape users in San Jose City, Nueva
Ecija and its effect on consumer behavior. The researchers made a questionnaire checklist to
gather data and information that can be used in this study. Part I of the questionnaire dealt with
the socio-demographic characteristics of the respondents to gather some information about the
respondent’s age, sex and civil status. Part II dealt with the consumer’s buying behavior when
purchasing vape in San Jose City, Nueva Ecija. The data will be collected and will be examined.
As the data will be analyzed, the data will be gathered and will be interpreted. Frequency
distribution and percentage will be used to describe the gathered data.

Research Design
The research design adopted for this study is the descriptive research design as it aimed
to investigate the buying decisions of vape users in San Jose City, Nueva Ecija and its effect on
consumer buying behavior. The descriptive research design focuses on the accurate description
of the variables present in the problem. Quantitative research is used to measure how consumers
think or act in a particular way.
Sampling method
The sampling technique used in this study is probability sampling and use the random
sampling method to choose respondents among vape users at San Jose City, Nueva Ecija. Since
there are 50 respondents, provided questionnaires for each respondent to answer honestly.

Ethical considerations
The confidentiality of the respondent during the research procedure is the researcher’s primary
ethical concern. The respondents should be treated with the utmost respect during the research.
The researchers make sure that the participants in their research studies are competent and
honest. To protect the privacy of the respondents, all information that they provide is considered
by the researchers, who should use the questionnaire directly. By giving questionnaires to the
respondents, the researchers believe that this study complies with ethical standards. The
researchers make sure that they can only view the overall number of respondents in order to
protect their identities. They ensure that all information that they collect is kept only for the
researchers because they believe that confidentiality helps to protect the privacy of their
participants

Data gathering procedure


In order to gather the desired data needed in the study, the researchers have taken the
following into the consideration. The researchers will provide first a formal letter to request
permission to conduct a survey letter and presented to the adviser to formally asked permission
to conduct survey outside the campus. After that, the letter is presented to the Vape users of San
Jose for their approval to conduct a survey questionnaire to them. The time when the letter was
approved, the researchers immediately asked for vape-users approval to answers the
questionnaire. The researcher explains to the respondent the importance of their participation to
the study and employees were given an enough time to answer the questionnaire.

Methods of Data analysis


The data collected will undergo through examination, recording, and subsequent analysis
to extract meaningful insights. This analysis involves interpreting the gathered information.
Frequency distribution and percentages will serve as methods to describe and summarize the
data, providing a clear depiction of patterns and occurrences within the dataset relevant to the
current topic.
