Sri.V.Sunil Kumar, President of Kerala Hockey welcomed the members and discussed
a proposal for 5’s A Side Hockey Premier League. The points discussed are as follows:
    A ten-day League with 120 matches is being proposed. There will be 12 teams,
      each with 8 players and 2 officials, a total of 120 members from 12 teams.
      Each team should have 8 players, one Coach & one Team Manager.
    Out of the 8 players minimum 2 players should be Women players. With the
      inclusion of women, there is no need for any additional rules and restrictions
      for this league and it will be played as per the FIH 5 A side rules and
      regulations.
    Approval for this tournament will be taken from Hockey India by Kerala
      Hockey.
    Each of the participating teams will receive Rs. 10 lakhs as incentive for
      participating in the tournament.
    The winning team will get the prize money of Rs. 1 crore, followed by Rs. 50
      Lakhs for the runners-up, Rs. 25 Lakhs for third place and 12.5 Lakhs for fourth
      place.
    The participation of teams should be entrusted with state units of Hockey India
      or individual from any State with good financial background as stake holders
      and with the approval of KHL Management Committee.
    Any affiliated State unit or approved individual can register a team for the
      tournament for an amount of Rs. 1 Crore as the entry fee and shall be remitted
      to Kerala Hockey before the tournament and from that an amount of Rs.40
      lakhs will be given to the stake holders (state association or individuals) as
      honorarium, intending to develop Hockey in their concerned State.
    Marquee players from India will be enlisted by Kerala Hockey with the advice
      from Hockey India. These players will be auctioned and each participating
      team shall buy one of the enlisted players from the auction.
    Kerala Hockey will select a pool of Marquee players for auction from Kerala.

           KERALA HOCKEY LEAGUE (KHL) – 5 A SIDE HOCKEY
                       The format of the KHL is as follows:
                              RULES AND GUIDELINES
1. Number of players allowed in a team is Eight. Out of this minimum two players
   should be women.
2. At least one woman should be on the field while their team is playing.
3. If a women player scores a goal, it will be recorded as equivalent to TWO goals.
4. KHL will be played in League cum knockout basis.
5. Duration of the League will be ten days.
6. One player shall be auctioned from the pool of Marquee players from Hockey India.
7. One State Player is mandatory in a team from the State where the franchisee
   belongs.
8. Each team should have a franchisee support.
9. Attractive prize money for the winners, First Runner up, Second Runner up and Third
   Runner up – Rs. 1 Crore, 50 Lakhs, 25 Lakhs and 12.5 Lakhs respectively.
10. KHL will be conducted under flood lights.
11. Sponsorship of each team will be the responsibility of their concerned Franchisees /
   Team Owners.
12. Accommodation, food and local transportation of the team will be the responsibility
   of Kerala Hockey.
13. Teams should register with Kerala Hockey with a registration fee of Rs. 1 Crore.
14. Medical and refreshment will be provided to the team at the venue.
15. Wide publicity will be given through visual and print media.
16. Remuneration, Accommodation and Food will be given to the Technical Officials and
   Umpires.
17. Team officials and Captain will have to be present before media for pre match and
   post match briefing.
