Minutes of the Zoom Meeting with IVAR RIAN Sports on 13th April 2023 at 6.

Sri.V.Sunil Kumar, President of Kerala Hockey welcomed the members and discussed
the proposal in detail given by Mr.Ravi Nair, founder of IVAR RIAN Sports, for the
conduct of T-40 – Speed 5’s A Side Hockey Premier League. The points discussed are
as follows:

 A ten-day League with 120 matches is being proposed. There will be 12 teams,
each with 8 players and a total of 132 members from 12 teams. Each team
should have 8 players, one Coach, one Team Manager and one Physiotherapist.
 President, Kerala Hockey suggested conducting a mixed team with 3 men and 2
women players. Mr. Nair expressed his reservation of conducting a mixed 5 A
Side tournament, with according to him; it can cause injuries to the women
players. This statement was countered by President Sri. V Sunil Kumar stating
that there is no need for additional rules and restrictions because hockey is a
non-body-contact sport.
 Kerala Hockey will take the approval from Hockey India for the conduct of the
League.
 Each of the participating teams will receive Rs. 10 lakhs as incentive for
participating in the tournament.
 The winning team will get the prize money of Rs. 2 crores, followed by Rs. 1
crore for the runners-up and Rs. 50 lakhs for third place.
 Mr. Soji, General Secretary, Kerala Hockey suggested to give prize money of Rs.
6 Lakhs each to 2 players, 4 Lakhs each to two players, 2 lakhs each to 2 players
and 1Lakh each to 2 players in the winning team.
 The President, Kerala Hockey requested Mr.Ravi Nair to revise the proposal
submitted for want of clarity in regard to the number of participating team, the
number of players, the stake holders, prize money, the sponsorship, the media
and telecasting rights as well as he was directed to restructure the whole
program from the beginning to be conducting as well as finalizing with a proper
timeline therein.
 As per Mr.Ravi’s request, Kerala Hockey has agreed to send a structural model
on the 5’s A Side tournament plan to be held under the auspicious of Kerala
Hockey.
 The meeting ended around 7:30 PM.
After the end of the discussion with Mr.Ravi Nair, the President, Kerala Hockey and
Dr.Manoj M J, Joint Secretary, Kerala Hockey discussed about the viability of
conducting 5‘s A Side tournament directly by Kerala Hockey and the points discussed
therein;

1. The point of participation of teams should be entrusted with state


association or individual of different States as stake holders.
2. Each State or individual can register a team for the tournament at an
amount of Rs.1 Crore as the entry fee shall be remitted to Kerala Hockey
before the tournament and from that Rs.50 lakhs will be given to the stake
holders (state association or individuals) as honorarium intending to
develop Hockey in the concerned State.
3. It was also discussed about Markey players from India who will be enlisted
by Kerala Hockey with the advice from Hockey India. These players will be
auctioned and each participating team will have to buy one of the enlisted
players from the auction.
