The brake control valve is located on the front of the cab and beneath the windshield.

The brake control valve controls the flow of oil to the service brakes. Pressure which is stored by the
accumulators is transmitted to ports (4) and (5) .

When pedal (1) is pressed, spools (9) and (12) are moved against spring (10). Pressure is transmitted
from port (5) through chamber (14) to port (7). Port (7) is connected to the service brakes for the front
axle. Pressure is also transmitted to chamber (13). This moves spool (12) against spring (10) which
allows pressure to be transmitted from port (4) to port (6) and to chamber (11). Port (6) is connected to
the service brakes for the center axle.

Pressure in chambers (13) and (11) moves the spools against spring (15). This blocks all oil flow past

the spools. Constant pressure is maintained in the lines to the service brakes until the pedal is moved.

When the pedal is released, the spools are moved by spring (10). Ports (6) and (7) are connected to tank
ports (2) and (3). Ports (4) and (5) are blocked by the spools. Check valve (8) prevents pressure from
being transmitted to the pedal.
