Please answer the following:

Deadline of Submission: May 6, 2024, 1:00pm

1. How do teachers educate children of social literacy nowadays? What specific content and
learning experiences are there in the curriculum that develop social literacy?

Social literacy is mostly learned through interaction from entering to exiting the room, for example
the teacher and learner greets one another and say their goodbyes at the end of the class, simply
this gestures builds the learners foundations to social cues. Also the curriculum is designed to use
play-based learning as a pedagogy, and naturally most of play includes teamwork or to engage with
other learners that develops their social literacy.

2. How do computer technology and social media affect your social skills and that of your
peers? Cite positive and negative impacts of digital technology to communication.

The impact of computer technology and social media in our social skills have its positives and
negatives. On the positives, communication is a lot faster and instant, we learn a lot from other
perspectives and lives from people around the world, news spreads faster, and information is more
accessible. On the negatives, we have little less time to think about what we say, everyone is on the
magnifying glass, we have less time for ourselves to reflect and reevaluate, we overloaded with
information, and unsolicited advices or stories that are not really relevant and adds to stress and
overstimulation. I’ve read a tweet that goes, “These days when we live under the microscopes of
other people’s screens, being forgotten gives you space to be alive.”

3. Make a list of Dos and Don'ts in the school and the workplace in relation to social literacy.
Present it creatively through an infographic.

1. Say Hello - Wave, smile, and shout "Hi!" It's like a magic spell that opens hearts and starts the
friendship ball rolling!

2. Share - Sharing is caring, and it's also super fun! It's like being a superhero who spreads joy and
toys!

3. Be Respectful - Treat everyone like they're the star of the show. Listen, nod, and let kindness flow!

4. Practice Empathy - Put on someone else's shoes (not literally, though!) and dance to the rhythm
of their feelings. It's the secret handshake of best buddies!

5. Avoid Overusing Phones - Phones are cool, but guess what's cooler? Building a castle or drawing
a doodle! Keep screens away and let real play lead the way!
