CHANEL BLUES

Time for a timeless classic! … I love Chanel jackets!

They are so easy to wear, cool with jeans and elegant with trousers or a skirt - you are practically always well dressed.
Two yarns held together and reversed stockinette provide interesting colour effects and create a fabric like the Chanel boucle texture.
This Cardigan is knit seamlessly from the top down. Shaping is done with short rows.

Sizes
Women's XS – S – M – L – XL – 2XL – 3XL – 4XL
Finished Bust: 83-91-99-107-116-125-136-144cm / 33-36-39-42.5-45.5-49.5-53.5-57”
Intended to be worn with 2-5 cm/1-2" positive ease. See page 2 for detailed measurements.

Materials
Material: DyeForYarn Silk/Merino DK 212m/100g, 2. Cotton Lace 600m/100g

For the perfect Chanel-look, I suggest a combination of two yarns, one of them DK weight and one of them
lace weight, or two sport/fingering weight yarns - best in differing textures and slightly differing colours.
Both yarns held together should be an equivalent to a worsted weight yarn and create a quite solid fabric.
You may replace by one single thread (tweed / variegated) in worsted weight, 80-90m/50g
Estimated yardage of each yarn-thread - see page 2.
Differences in gauge and yarn choice may affect the amount of yardage used.
4.5mm/US 7 circular needles or size needed for gauge and one size smaller for the collar; 80-100cm/32-40",
stitch markers, tapestry needle, crochet hook, optional: double pointed needles for sleeves,
9 buttons (approx. 2cm/0.75” diameter – if you wish a longer cardigan, you may need more buttons)
Sample knitted in size M – version with waist shaping

Gauge
Stockinette stitch: 10 cm / 4 inch = 19 stitches and 26 rows
Please consider that you will spend many hours knitting this cardigan
… but only a few minutes to make a gauge swatch …It is worth the time!
A variation of only 1 stitch may cause a difference of an entire size.
Try different needle sizes to obtain gauge and wash and block before measuring.

Pattern directions that differ among sizes are specified as XS – S – M – L – XL – 2XL – 3XL – 4XL. L-XL are
highlighted for the ease of reading. To understand the construction, please read the entire pattern before
you start and mark the numbers for your size. Where only one number is given, it pertains to all sizes.
Find abbreviations on page 2.
